Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

I have to say, the 6.4 at least has enough torque to get me over anything with the current gearing. I even was able to wheel at high elevation in high range when the tuner crashed my truck and made low a limp mode. Not saying 4:1 would not be better though. I added it to 1996 Montero and god its ama...

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Differentials are fairly tricky. Even many pros send them out to an expert. Not impossible to build, but like a transmission or engine internals not something you want to get wrong. Pinon seals are a common issue. My Nissan Titan had to have them replaced at 160K and 210K I believe. A lift causing a...

Never heard of that, but if you are talking Widow Maker on Metal Masher, yeh that would be bad. That obsticle is insane now. Got out of it last time due to snow.

Thuren bumper. Not sure if it’s “Ranch Hand” enough for a Texan, though.

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

Someone on TFL took out the Chrome with photo shop thinking that was part of the problem. And bam, it looks even worse if you can believe it. The last time I saw a truck design this bad was that swap to the soft, rounded look by Ford for Women in the 90's.

Re: The Gladiator returns...

I kind of like it. Thinking I might downsize to it for retirement and over landing. Power Wagon is too big, and JL 4dr too small.
And after the post above I am gender confused :run:

Re: Perfect world PW

Engine and Transmission updates are going to be well over due after the big maker overs. With the monster torque and improving fuel mileages that Ford is delivering GM and Ram are going to be forced to do something sooner then later. I would not be surprised to see new drive-train a few years down t...

Re: 6.4 Burning Oil

If you watch the oil change gauge it actually calculates when to change the oil based upon mileage, using 4x4, speeds, and using tow haul mode. Its quite a good system.

My list for 2019 or 2020 1. Ditch the Dura Trash for BFG KM3s or Toyos 2. 35" Tires 3. Rock Sliders 4. Missing Skid 5. Re-do that silly ass tail pipe 6. Synthetic winch line 7. Wireless remote standard 8. 24K Topo maps loaded on Uconnect 9. Tail gate dampener(really, we dont have that, come on) 10. ...

Re: 6.4 Burning Oil

Change my oil about every 8K, or when the dummy light reminds me. At 28K miles I never check it. Its odd how you can get a random engine that does this. Seems like every manufacturer has a few. Normal, I say its not, but some like BMW insist it is. Modern engines that are well put together should no...

Will plan for the 4th again next year. End of summer of 2019 will build a private play ground and camp site 2 miles outside of town. Once I have it ready I will let everyone know. Will be really close for camping but no zoo. Don't think I can get my permits and a week of road building done by the 4th.

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Driving a modern vehicle long enough to even see a diff blow up seems like a stretch. They should go what a million miles. Sounds like a defective unit. Probably was bad from the start, just a little off. I assume it had oil and not water in it however.

Re: Performance out of the 10-13 5.7 hemi?

At 410HP with the 6.4 I think its less about HP, although meeting or beating the Raptors 450 would be good, its about cutting weight. Use the new engine blocks, aluminum body's, high strength steels, synthetic winch line, ect to make way for sliders, 35s and better power to weight ratio. And hit bet...

Re: G56 Neutral Noise Question

The thing I learned a long time ago is just how much more prone to issues stick shifts are. Then I took and automatic loaner off road while a new clutch was installed in my truck, and lets just say that was that. Ok, so not quite, I had a flat tire and there was no jack in the truck. But that is ano...
