Re: Ready to go Camping
Western Arkansas, in the Ozarks. Some decent OHV trails, too tight for trucks/Jeeps, about 90% of the riders are side by sides with the rest being quads. We just random camp, so "roughing it" with satellite TV and a hot shower after a day of riding.

Re: Anyone tried any of these tires?
Unfortunately I don't drive in the snow anymore. (We get maybe one snow day a year in NW OK.)

Anyone tried any of these tires?
Anyone tried any of these three? The Toyo RT Trail is new, as is the Falkan RT. I was going to get the Maxxis then these two options popped up, in my size and weight rating. Unfortunately, I don't use my truck the way it should be used very often anymore and I probably should just get the Wildpeak A...

Re: Is this place still alive?
Sparkplugs are expensive! Oddly enough more than double my 8.1 L Vortec when I did it back in the day.
102k miles, I think I have all the maintenance caught up. Just need tires one of these days... 5 years and 30k miles on the Toyo MTs.
Random post. sorry

Re: Best AGM Battery
Anyone using Optima yellow tops? I wasn't super happy with red tops in my second gen, but in fairness they handled several single battery/stock alternator dual winch recoveries and literally hundreds of single winch recoveries. Amazon their reviews are generally better than some of the others and th...

Re: Best AGM Battery
Thats clever, I'll take a look at that. It does make me feel better about not buying another Napa. I had a Diehard Platinum in my Chevy and it had no problems starting the 8.1L at -40 and was going strong when I traded the truck in. Probably was 7-8 years old or older at that point.

Best AGM Battery
To follow up my jump pack thread (no surprise but I did do all the testing to narrow down the problem to the 3 year old battery that Napa won’t warranty) what now? Preference is AGM and I believe this is an H7. I considered the Anti-gravity but have concerns for sub zero starts hence leaning towards...

Jump Pack
Anyone have any good experience with the new jump packs? I have an older Anti-Gravity one that seems to still hold a charge but it's on the small side (2000 mAh) for a truck (works good on my 950 Super Enduro though) and I built one with Warn quick connect cables/jumper cables/Lowes Toolbox/AGM batt...

Re: New LED Lights
I haven't driven with them yet (just the new fogs) but I think they will work pretty well. I was looking at some big Baja Designs or something behind the grill but this is much cleaner and gets rid of some of the chrome.

New LED Lights
New lights are in. AlphaRex headlights and Morimoto foglights. Expensive but cheaper than a new truck! Yes, kind of a lame mod (although should be substantially brighter than stock.)

Re: Hellwig Sway Bar -- Rear
XRC Buffalo Bill.jpg 3rd Gen has leaf springs which effectively act as a sway bar. (The axle twists the spring as it articulates.) I tow my 19' travel trailer behind with the side by side on the deck. Just got back from a 3k mile roundtrip to Yellowstone. Basically, if my GF didn't complain about t...

Hellwig Sway Bar -- Rear
Anyone upgrade their rear sway bar? I'm considering the Hellwig 7306 or 7738. I would use my Thuren links with either so the 7738 part list is more appropriate but the 7306 is the "Big Wig" and is 1/8" thicker. The reason is with my side by side on the bed rack, I do get some sway/side to side motio...

Re: Some Updates on the 2016 PW
I needed to replace the transfer case in my Avalanche when it got a hole and and all the fluid leaked out, and about 4 solenoids, including the under warranty ones. That's what mine did too, but I was fortunate and found it was leaking right and JB welded it. I then got a rebuilt one with the bille...

Re: Some Updates on the 2016 PW
Good as new You should be good for a few years I'm the same way...would rather keep fixing it vs making truck payments I had my Avalanche 2500 for 11 years and 200k miles. (And technically still own my 2nd gen Ram although haven't seen it for a few years.) I probably would have kept the Av (8.1L/4....

Some Updates on the 2016 PW
Hit 95K miles and started to have the transmission acting up. Then starting limping, bit the bullet with around 97k miles. Annoying since the truck has never been beat and fluid was never over 172 deg even while towing. New transmission with billet/upgrades along with deep pan and RevMax bypass. Lif...
