Re: 10 Things to Love and 10 Things to Hate

MPG is what I love? 15 mpg average the last 8000 miles. Compared to my much more aerodynamic and lighter, and 100 HP less Chevy, that's impressive. It got 12-13. On 285s, not the 315s I have now. Only thing I hate is the transmission shifter. Both that you can't lock it into a gear, and that you can...

Re: '14 Power Wagon needs new motor at 63k... :/

So, I never let the MDS engage on my truck. Do we think that's helpful or is it just my ADHD? (I like to see what gear I am so I run in the manual mode, which disengages MDS)

Rear Suspension

Currently Have Airlift Ultimate bags, Daystar cradles. Planning on decent shocks (Thuren King 2.5"s). Would you do their rear coils and/or trackbar? Are the springs taller at all, if not, should I add a spacer? I occasionally do tow and haul fairly heavy (SXS on deck, plus tongue weight of trailer l...

Re: 2.5s versus 3" Kings

Looks like about $700 difference (I believe Thuren discounts the PW Kin 2.5" kit, so some of that is in no discount on all components..)

On $4k that's less than 20%... Hmmm...

2.5s versus 3" Kings

Considering doing the PW 2.5" Kings system from Thuren. (1.5" lift). Was going to do Stainless shafts and front boogie bumps (have rear Airlift 5000s Ultimate (internal bumpstarts) and daystars. Obviously, quite a bit more to go to 3" but is there a value for it? The sad reality I spend 90% of my ti...

Re: 2014+ Water Free Intake Ideas

Nick, I had an open K&N on my Ranger and hit deeper mud holes than that. Over the bumpers... had water flowing through knee deep in my second Gen on Fordyce (lots of high flow creeks). 30" is only tire height at best, I think you will be fine. Just don't hit it too fast, but throttle down once you a...

Re: Got my Toy Up Deck

No doubt on the height!! Good think is it's way high so no chance of clearing. And about the same as my TT so I am already kind of used to it. Handles well, but noticeable. Like a small cabover camper. I did air up the tires to 65 psi (rear) and took the air bags to 50 psi. No problem running well o...

Aftermarket Lights

So backed into a tree on a slightly less than improved road. (Map said "draw" creek bottom would be more accurate.) Broke an LED tailght. Looking at aftermarket, there are limited options for OEM taillights for factory LED trucks. Any experience or recommendations? Also, I don't like the fake chrome...

Re: Daul Battery --2014-2018

There is a lot of room for batteries under the cab on my 3G. Two Optima Grp 34s mounted on their sides, bolted to the frame rail, tucked way up and out of the way. Controlled thru a Painless Performance solenoid/isolator, plus a Blue Seas rotary switch so that I can use one, two, or all three batte...

Daul Battery --2014-2018

Anyone done a second battery? I bought mine off the showroom floor, so no dual alternators (which I would order if new but for retrofit, think a second battery is more applicable, more current for short bursts, seldom do I need it for long bursts...) I put my air compressor under the front of the bo...

Re: Nitrogen in tires???

If you have an easily corroded substance (bare steel wheels for example) pure, dry N2 may be worthwhile. Of course even liquid N2 isn't pure, and compressed N2 definitely isn't, typically still has some O2 and H20. In a truck tire, you shouldn't notice any difference between CO2 (much cheaper and mo...
