Re: Max tire size for chains

The SZ are good, easy to put on. I have tried them with 315/70R BFGs with no rub.

Re: New PW owner

Great color! x infinity on the Duratracs. I had them a couple sets on my last truck, this truck, blew the tread out on one and a sidewall on another. Pulled them off at 40k miles after buying two new ones and utilizing the spare in rotation. 20k miles on BFGs so far with no issues. Otherwise the tru...

Re: Thuren Test Drive

Cool. It's a lot better on the road as it's broken in some and I am 43/37 than when I was 65/65.

Guessing 35/30 would be perfect.

Re: Locker Bypass

Yeah, I want the one that takes the Smartbar out of the equation. I don't care if I have it in 4wd high, I just find it annoying that it doesn't lock with out finesse. My ARB's. When you flip the switch. It locked. That's what I want.

Re: Thuren Test Drive

Doing it over, I would probably do Stage 2 but I haven't towed or hauled with it, and I'm guessing the stiffer valving will help up with 3000 lbs...

Thuren Test Drive

Did about 150 miles today. Over half dirt. This with the Thuren PW 2.5" King kit. stage 3 valving. Front Boogie Bumps BFGs at 46 psi front/39 psi rear First dirt roads had some snow. Lots of elevation gain. Narrow, tight. Washboard. Faster was better. Didn't hop but definitely knew you were on washb...

No. For the size of the air line I don’t see it doing much.

Re: THuren Time

Seems about the same, maybe a tad higher? Bags are at 5 psi, it looks pretty level even with the deck on. Empty, it will probably still be a bit tail high.

It's fast now, I likely should have done 2s instead of 3s, but it certainly handles way better.

Re: Rear Kings On

I mounted the Wireless one air compressor/solenoid to the beds "frame" up underneath the gas cap. High enough that it doesn't get splashed and under the bed so doesn't get the elements. Plus it's quiet.

Hose to t to drivers airbag to rear bumper (air fitting there) to the passenger side bag.

Re: Mojave edition.

Not bad, but just color and wheels, right? It's like calling blue the "Sky edition."

If it had a Hellcat engine or something interesting, it could be a special edition...

Rear Kings On

Got the new springs, track bar, sway bar end links, and Kings in today. Trackbar mount took some time. Lots of drilling. Dewalt 18 volt handled it but was slow. Otherwise, not too bad. Re: Rear Winch

Did that on my second gen, and my Ranger before that. I like under the bed so much better. Obviously the 42” doesn’t fit under the tube bed on the second gen and the 33” didn’t fit in the holder designed for the 27” stock tire the Ranger came with. 33” on the Chevy, 35” here. Stock spare tire carrie...

Re: THuren Time

Sounds fun, the furthest east I have ever wheel was eastern Illinois. The Appalachians look amazing, I have been in eastern KY/VA/WV and PA for work. Our frac manager has a decent JK, he's currently moving from Morgantown to Mill Hall (near Williamsport). I would imagine I could talk him into. Doubt...

Re: Rear Winch

Warn SDP 6000. Small and light, but 4.5 hp and 50' 51/6" steel rope. I have used this winch on my second gen many times (rear) to rescue me as well as on front of my Chevy 3/4ton. Pulled me out of many a snow bank. I know it looks small, but since it's a Warn, it's built tough. I have only stalled i...

Rear Winch

Put the wiring in for the multi-mount winch. I used the warn kit with the remote control solenoid. (So I didn't use the factory circuit breaker, just connect to the battery). I then control the solenoid through a remote relay so no wires to the cab.

Re: THuren Time

BJ Services. We have frac and cement across the lower 48 and Western Canada.

I was going to add to this, is Thuren's gear is work of art. I had some of his second gen stuff, very functional, but his attention to detail keeps improving. Very nice.

Re: THuren Time

I’m old and my back hurts. And my knees. I’ll get to it. Plus it’s my only street legal vehicle and I needed to get beer to combat my knee and back pain. So I couldn’t leave it torn down overnight.
