Daul Battery --2014-2018

Anyone done a second battery? I bought mine off the showroom floor, so no dual alternators (which I would order if new but for retrofit, think a second battery is more applicable, more current for short bursts, seldom do I need it for long bursts...) I put my air compressor under the front of the bo...

Re: Nitrogen in tires???

If you have an easily corroded substance (bare steel wheels for example) pure, dry N2 may be worthwhile. Of course even liquid N2 isn't pure, and compressed N2 definitely isn't, typically still has some O2 and H20. In a truck tire, you shouldn't notice any difference between CO2 (much cheaper and mo...

Re: Cool hidden features

Who knows? I haven't been back to an FCA dealer since I bought it. It did an auto update on the Nav etc at one point. I will likely take it back for the recall once they get fix figured out (brake interlock). Then I will get the update done for my Procal as well (right now says adjust to 35 psi, but...

Re: Cool hidden features

Ok, I have tried that way too, but i'll give it another couple of shots.

Do you allow it to retract all the way? I have tried both, but hard to get three in in 10 seconds.

Re: Cool hidden features

Truck off. Sitting in drivers seat.
Two pushes of ignition button with no foot on brake(ignition on)
Seatbelt off. Buckle, unbuckle x3
One press to off

Have tried the same starting the belt buckled and ending with it buckled. Also have tried in accessory instead of ignition.

Re: Cool hidden features

Is there a way to turn seatbelt chime off on a 2015 tradesman with few options? Yes, Just turn the key to Accessory (don't start it) and then connect and disconnect the seatbelt 3 times in 10 seconds, and then turn the ignition back off. I did exactly as you said three separate times and it ...

Re: Cool hidden features

Still trying to get the seatbelt. Think I was on accessory not run. Will try again. Also on cool features, I was able to once get my foglights on with high beams. (switch on light, not auto, pull stalk to flash to pass then push all the way forward rapidly). I tried it a bunch though and only got it...

Re: Chains -- S8 Series -- Z486 on 315/70R17

I was going to get those for the rear but the chart from
Peerless showed their traction as Less. Also, figured for a set of four easier to learn how to put one style on.

Price is definitely better and they look solid.

Chains -- S8 Series -- Z486 on 315/70R17

These are Peerless S8 high clearance. They are rated for more traction than the straight chains (not than v bars or the cross style.) They are split so install is very easy, just slide the two halves around the tires, connect three slip type fasteners, and then the tensioners. Five minute install in...

Also with winch, I have seen front axle components break during recoveries in reverse. Winch is much safer/reliable.

Re: Changeable Settings at Dealer

With the manual, it sure seems like it should be....

Are you DBW or cable? If cable, you should be able to add a hand throttle. There are some slick throttle controls that mount to the shifter.

How do you shutoff the seatbelt chime on a keyless ignition?
with vehicle off:
push start button without brake pedal pushed and then connect/disconnect seatbelt 3 times within 10 seconds and then push start button again.
Thanks!!

35x12.5R17 Toyo C/Ts, 40 psi front, 35 psi rear. I lose 1/4 turn of the wheel, where the fronts rub on the swaybar ends (first) and the radius arm knuckles. I live up a valley in south central Alaska and it can be a while before the sand trucks get up here when it's icy, so these things are well wo...
