Re: Engine fan

My experience with bigger engines, it's hard to keep cool if towing or working them with just electric fans. I think about my 6.4 when I am towing and wrapped out at 5500 rpm, it's moving a lot of air. I don't know the exact airflow, but when I looked at it for my 8.1 Chevy, it was about 3-4x as muc...

Ayup. It's an upgrade. Your truck can still carry a shitton but the axle is rated for 6200 but the ass end only weighs like 3500... so thats like 3700 in payload, etc.

Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Wouldn't that be 2,700 lb? Which is F150 aka Visteon 975, payload?

Re: New Shoes

Got it. What about 3500 SRW? Same axle, different mounts. Seriously, these are pathetically low ratings for this axle. I have Dana 70s that are way smaller/lighter with 10klb GAWR. My 1050 AAM Chevy was 6084 lb as that was the stock 245/75R16. (Same axle in the 3500 got a 6830 lb rating as it had 26...

Re: New Shoes

Your axle is still only 6200. That's your hard limit. So tires and wheels only need to be rated to 3100. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk So an 11.5” AAM is only 6200lb? Did they downgrade the housing and bearings for the PW or did they downgrade the Rating for the axle due to stock tires/sprin...

Re: AC Main Blend Door

2nd gen it would do it but it was a vacuum issue. I added bigger vacuum reservoirs and check valves and addressed some other vacuum system issues. Oh, and regeared so the truck wasn't at full throttle all the time. (Full throttle it would go to defrost.)

Re: Spare Fuel

I am kind of thinking a 2 gallon Rotopax on each side behind the wheel well. I like that they can be locked. And only 3" wide. Shouldn't impede the box space at all? Plus could go to 3 gallons each if I was ok with the extra width.

New Shoes

Sorry, not installed. But I am excited. Plus wheels are rated at 3650 lbs and tires are 3640 lbs which gives me 900 lb additional rear axle over the 3195 lb BFGs. (I know door tag stuff but let's be honest more capacity more better.) 35" Toyo MTs on AEV 17x8.5" wheels (Katla) Tires.jpeg These will b...

Yeah, I need a portable solution so I can fill generators/side by side. Etc. I just like to carry a few gallons of 91 octane so I am always prepared.

Spare Fuel

Anyone doing anything clever with spare fuel? I am thinking something like a Rotopax mounted over the wheel well on the bed side?

My cheapo fuel containers break. I need something decent.

Timbrens are good with really soft suspension if you are trying to stiffen it up. These trucks are stiff enough empty, I prefer the airbags. The Airlift work awesome.

Re: air bags

I have had mine for a year with no concerns. And I beat on it pretty good as well as haul quite a bit of weight on occasion.

I Think the Cradles are great. Other option is the helliwigs as they are an 8" bag, I would assume they would stretch a bit more.

The SZ are good, easy to put on. I have tried them with 315/70R BFGs with no rub.

Re: New PW owner

Great color! x infinity on the Duratracs. I had them a couple sets on my last truck, this truck, blew the tread out on one and a sidewall on another. Pulled them off at 40k miles after buying two new ones and utilizing the spare in rotation. 20k miles on BFGs so far with no issues. Otherwise the tru...

Cool. It's a lot better on the road as it's broken in some and I am 43/37 than when I was 65/65.

Guessing 35/30 would be perfect.

Yeah, I want the one that takes the Smartbar out of the equation. I don't care if I have it in 4wd high, I just find it annoying that it doesn't lock with out finesse. My ARB's. When you flip the switch. It locked. That's what I want.

Lots of elevation gain. Narrow, tight. Washboard. Faster was better. Didn't hop but definitely knew you were on washb...

Re: THuren Time

Seems about the same, maybe a tad higher? Bags are at 5 psi, it looks pretty level even with the deck on. Empty, it will probably still be a bit tail high.

It's fast now, I likely should have done 2s instead of 3s, but it certainly handles way better.

Re: Rear Kings On

I mounted the Wireless one air compressor/solenoid to the beds "frame" up underneath the gas cap. High enough that it doesn't get splashed and under the bed so doesn't get the elements. Plus it's quiet.

Hose to t to drivers airbag to rear bumper (air fitting there) to the passenger side bag.

Not bad, but just color and wheels, right? It's like calling blue the "Sky edition."

If it had a Hellcat engine or something interesting, it could be a special edition...
