Re: Hardwired lockers on 4-4.5 gen

I was originally going to hardwire my lockers until I lucked into a bypass kit. If I were doing what you're doing I would make a t-harness with OE plugs and solder in diodes so the OE knob would still work with the added hard wired switches. What I have in my head is a plug and play hard wire kit wi...

Re: Thuren vs. Carli

We do a lot of washboard roads granted, but we also do A LOT of slower stuff out in the desert (Idaho) where we are crawling over fields of small rocks and it's endless little hits. When Reloadeguy has problems with soaking up hits from expansion joints on the freeway, I worry Kings won't help me o...

Re: Thuren vs. Carli

My truck has not been easy to tune because of the modifications I have made. The truck cap, bed system, and spare tire carrier have totally changed the chassis handling characteristics. Had I ordered parts from Carli I would likely just be SOL. Thuren, on the other hand, has gone way beyond reasonab...

I cant imagine driving on roads that require chains. Are chains better than studded tires?
In the sort of conditions that would warrant an MT tire in the summer, chains would be better in the frozen winter. Hard packed ice and snow offroad.

A higher output aftermarket alternator is less expensive and will have less parasitic power draw on the accessory pulleys.

Re: Carli Radius Arms

I don't think the radius arms are as flat as they look. The have clearance built into them, if you run a string-line from bolt to bolt you can actually see how steep they are. I don't know if Carli drops would improve anything, I'm only saying that the PW does nothing to correct the radius arm angle...

Re: Carli Radius Arms

There is a place called Lewis Built performance that makes some really beefy looking Arms that have a second set of points and have correction for lift, they are in the same price range as Carli...may want to check them out. I know Carli is pretty adimant abount using thier drop brackets with thier...

I can see why they do it. At 13K off they would be breaking even or losing money. If I recall HB was about 2K.
Depends on the starting price but they didn't lose money. There is a lot more in the deal than you think.

Re: Any Ordering Advice

Dennis Dillon gave me $13k off MSRP in mid February Was your truck "on the lot" or did you order it ? Just curious. I ask because, by us, I have never seen anything over 10k discount unless it is on the lot already. With rebates I ended up with $6500 off on my ordered truck & they told me it was th...

Re: Any Ordering Advice

Lets face it, 99% of all dealers are bad. But it seems to increase to 100% in some places like Albuquerque. I always start out with lets clear the air, I don't give a crap about payment amount. Whats the price. And you still got bent over. Perhaps you just don't speak their language? If you don't c...

No no, the science doesn't lie. Your clattering engine is just proof it's working. Trust the results of passenger car lab results from completely different weight oils and plainly contradictory oil-phite forum posts. Hold on, where's that eye-rolling emoji. Re: Transmission/crossover pipe skidplate

I installed the drain valve at my first oil change. I don't think the valve got in the way during installation of the skid so if you need to change your oil I'd do it before. If you're not due for an oil change I'd probably wait.

Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum rebate (for guys with the 6.4l)

Nothing wrong with the Pennzoil Ultra, it's a totally decent oil. You can hear an audible difference between PUP and other brands of oil in the Ram 6.4L. Cold start lifter ticks and knocks are common with PUP. Only people I see that say that Pennzoil ultra is garbage are people just arbitrarily mak...

I got rid of every 1911 I have ever owned and don't miss them for one second. I needed a Limited division 40SW race gun so I bought a CZ TS. I've been shooting against 2011's that cost three times what I paid and are lucky to make it through a magazine without a failure. 1911's and 2011's are fun to...

Have you tuned the mags? Double stack 1911s are very sensitive to feed lip geometry. Stem-bind feed malfunctions are often related to magazines.

Do you have Jerry Kuhnhausen's book?
