Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum rebate (for guys with the 6.4l)

No no, the science doesn't lie. Your clattering engine is just proof it's working. Trust the results of passenger car lab results from completely different weight oils and plainly contradictory oil-phite forum posts. Hold on, where's that eye-rolling emoji. Found it.    :rol...

Re: Transmission/crossover pipe skidplate

I installed the drain valve at my first oil change. I don't think the valve got in the way during installation of the skid so if you need to change your oil I'd do it before. If you're not due for an oil change I'd probably wait.

Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum rebate (for guys with the 6.4l)

Nothing wrong with the Pennzoil Ultra, it's a totally decent oil. You can hear an audible difference between PUP and other brands of oil in the Ram 6.4L. Cold start lifter ticks and knocks are common with PUP. Only people I see that say that Pennzoil ultra is garbage are people just arbitrarily mak...

Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum rebate (for guys with the 6.4l)

Which amsoil product are you guys using? Does it meet the same requirements as the pennzoil? This stuff https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/motor-oil/gasoline/sae-0w-40-signature-series-100-percent-synthetic-motor-oil/?code=AZFQT-EA But to be honest, there is a lot of good oil on the market and ...

Re: Why has AEV turned to such shit?

Except 40's don't just fit with a 3" AEV lift. Nice try Dave.

Oh, and that stock'ish steering gear is the same 20k mile service life junk that came on the trucks OE.

Re: 10mm Doubles

I got rid of every 1911 I have ever owned and don't miss them for one second. I needed a Limited division 40SW race gun so I bought a CZ TS. I've been shooting against 2011's that cost three times what I paid and are lucky to make it through a magazine without a failure. 1911's and 2011's are fun to...

Re: 10mm Doubles

Have you tuned the mags? Double stack 1911s are very sensitive to feed lip geometry. Stem-bind feed malfunctions are often related to magazines.

Do you have Jerry Kuhnhausen's book?

If only GM built a SUV with a bed on a suburban chassis. I wonder what they would call it? I bet they'd have an avalanche of orders.

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

No shit, what do you think we discussing? The ABS works well for about 90% of pavement driving, the other 10% it's trying to stop the truck. Offroad the ABS isn't needed at all. All modern ABS/TCS systems do this. A switch to turn it off on the fly is the objective.

Re: Reloaderguy's Mod Thread

Glad it worked out, with the valving you chose you should have no issues at all. People with lighter valved shocks need to be aware that overloading the rear of the truck can be very dangerous with reduced rate sway bars, specifically heavy loads up high in the bed.

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

The ABS pump is next to the master cylinder. Ah yes. I tried to snap a pic of it long ago for RetiredBLMrig, but there is a piece of plastic covering it that I could not figure out how to get it off. The only wires I see coming off the pump go directly into a large wire harness next to it, with a s...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

I snapped these pictures before I left work today. The newest schematic diagram I could find was for a 2015. It looks like the ABS ground wires are connection #G802A and it looks like it is located somewhere on the drivers side frame rail below the ABS unit or battery or fuse box. Gee, I wonder wha...

Re: Exhaust Help

My neighbor down the street did a muffler delete kit on his 1500. I can hear him from three blocks away. He swears it's quiet inside the truck. I'd love change my exhaust but I absolutely don't want to hear it. I drive a lot of miles in my little commuter car and it is very loud (wind noise) inside,...

My understanding was the rear would be 2.0 temporarily until he could afford to replace them. If that's the case go ahead. If you mean as a permanent solution then no.
Sounds a lot more expensive than just using the factory Bils for a while.
