Re: Gears?

Mike pretty much hit all of the points. I think 4.88 is the common ratio for 37's but is a mistake. Most people probably call Randy's R&P and they tell them 4.88 because that is technically the lowest available gear set for the Chrysler 9.25 front diff. However, 5.13 is far better ratio for 37's con...

The sway bar floats, you can pull it to either side.

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Rebuilding a 231/241/271 takes an hour or less. All of the parts come out and new parts just drop in. Taking out the old case is the hardest part of the job. They are also very cheap used. What actually seized in the front end?

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

I assume that before they install new parts, and before you pay them, they can articulate what specifically was wrong and what specifically was changed. Transfer cases are generally pretty simple, did they rebuild yours or replace it? If replaced, why? Why was the driveshaft rebalanced? Did they ins...

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Appreciate the commentary guys. I can learn something from that. FCA Care is now saying they probably cant cover due to the Carli aftermarket parts (springs, control arms). I am curious if that may have something to do with the situation via premature wear... I'm seriously thinking its time to sell...

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

There's only one way to properly fix a leaking pinion seal. I suspect Ram doesn't authorize under warranty the proper way. Over tightening the pinion nut can cause the pinion to seize up. Im sure you are right on with that statement. I dont know about the OP but when I told the service guy mine was...

Re: Krown...Rust Check.... Fluid Film

Look at the first page of my build thread, I posted a picture of the rocker cut open. When I closed the rocker up I had to spray rust inhibitor in the cavity. The only way to access the outer chamber was through holes ported in the divider close to the holes taped closed from the factory. You should...

Re: Krown...Rust Check.... Fluid Film

Yep, there are drain ports all along the bottom of the rockers. There is also a divider panel down the center of the rocker, you need to peel back the tape and look for the additional access ports inside. If not there is a good chance you're only spraying the inboard half of each rocker.

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

I will say, I agree with comments about the 6.4 feeling gutless or lethargic. The 5.7 in my 1500 felt very sporty and responsive. And it only had 3.92 gears. The 6.4 in the PW works. But it feels like Ram designed the engine around the idea that a construction worker or a landscaper was just going ...

I still want a 4:1 transfer case or a better crawl ratio. I can barely hold my truck anymore in 1st gear low. Pretty disappointing.
That's because the ABS computer map changes for the range selection. Pull your ABS fuse and see how it feels.

The 5.7 is anemic and had no business being in a 2500.
I want to build the top end of my 6.4 so bad! The 6.4 come with forged internals from the rods down.

Re: 2018 PW Front Bumper

To heck with front park sensors. I reverse park almost everywhere I go anyway. My rear park sensors have been dead for a while, I never rely on them so I doubt I'll ever try too hard to get them fixed. Back-up camera is the bees knees, 3G owners get your salt ready to throw. Exactly. I reverse park...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

It's not necessarily a bad thing but the 66RFE is a stronger transmission. It shares the same torque converter with the 65RFE but has the same gears and clutches as the 68RFE. As much as I want lower transmission ratios I don't want a weaker transmission.

If I had to guess who’s on a closed road in the backcountry, good odds it’s a Toyota driver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's not likely for Travis Haley. ‘If I ever roll off the road on an iced over closed backroad’.... if you own a Tacoma that’s actually a very plausible and common scenario.
