Re: 2013+ truck steering nut recall?

Apparently the problem has to do with the sleeve, not the nuts. The material is to soft or the threads are out of tolerance compared to the shaft. The sleeve is jumping threads on the male threaded shaft, thus appearing as if the nuts loosened. Loctite won't fix that. FCA has determined that tighte...

Re: 11.5 swap

Would be any difference inside the pumpkin for using the e-locker? No, the carrier is the same. I'm using gears from 2012 C&C 11.5 in my '14+ 11.5. I was thinking more like the housing it's self. Where the wires go through and stuff like that. Yes, you'd have to drill a hole for the locker wires to...

11.5 rear out of a '13 and older Cummins and a E-Locker from a '14+ PW. You'll have to regear the axle but it should all bolt up.

Re: Gears?

Different carriers have different ring gear flange locations. I believe 3.42 or 3.73 is the cutoff. Your carrier is correct for those gears.

You can fit 40's on -32 wheels with just a set of Thuren front coils without any rubbing. Just a little trimming required.

Re: Procharging my PW

Aloha from Hawaii. I'm in need of some advice for future plans to my baby. My plans are to install ARH long tube headers, a procharger, tune, ECM, and exhaust. I was planning on doing headers and exhaust first. Do I require a tune? Then procharger ECM, tune all at once. I'd love to hear everyone ad...

Re: New Rear Bumper?

The problems with geometry of a swingout on our trucks comes from the tire. If you have a 35” or smaller you don’t need to relocate the spare tire. So a bumper tire carrier is only for 37-40” tires. If you set a tire of that size on your bumper, you can see that in order to not have the tire itself...

He takes LARPing to a whole new level. He used to claim he was law enforcement then it came out he was one of the people that bought a badge from the sheriff in NM.

Re: Big Mods to a 2014+

Ok, that makes sense. I am seeing crate HC engine for $15K, would the swap be worth it, or would it make more sense to build the 6.4? You'd still have all of the tuning and transmission issues. I think the swap has been done though. When it's all said and done I'd bet the HC swap would cost just as...

Re: Big Mods to a 2014+

Looks more like $15K to $20K after you address the fuel system, tuning, and transmission. The 6.4 Big Gas has a forged bottom end and heads that flow the same as a HC; I think 800hp is a modestly reasonable figure if you're going to go to the trouble of a blower. The blower kit alone is probably $8k...

Re: Big Mods to a 2014+

ProCharger is the only off the shelf kit available. MDS can't handle boost so you'll have to pull heads at a minimum. If you're digging in then pistons, studs, valve springs, etc would get you a lot more power. Might as well bore it and stroke it at that point. I assume they make Hemi stroker kits....

It is just fodder for the insecure Ford fan boys to jerk off over. Kind of like the articles about how Ram is going to 'destroy' the Raptor. Neither is going to happen, get over it.

I always get a good laugh when different forums talk about how unreliable the Elockers are and how great ARB airlockers are in comparison. The air systems (not the diffs) constantly shit the bed.

Sorry, not helpful or constructive. Just kind of reminded me.

Re: Weight Distribution Hitch Offroad

I've been using the WD hitch that came with my used toy hauler. It is just the L shaped bars held to the trailer tongue by chains and then pops into the lower side of the hitch, attached to the truck. Played with using different links in the chain and measuring the front, up until the bars didn't s...
