Re: For Sale: 3rd - Early 4th Gen Faux Low Locker Bypass

Hi I’m really new to all of this. As I understand this tricks your transfer case into thinking it’s in 4 low? If so does it change into 4 low mapping for the engine? Sorry if that’s worded wrong but I am very interested. It tricks the truck into thinking that the T-case is in 4LO, permitting the th...

The Official Power Wagon Cornhole Game

No, you didn't read it wrong, Ram is marketing a Power Wagon cornhole game set. It must be the Laramie edition because it's $165. I still can't buy the T-shirt I want, but I can buy this. 31c15985c488870bc710f3df4aad4918.jpg The problem I was having was trying to figure out which sub-forum to ...

Welcome to the forum! The PW is the most capable production truck in the world, straight off the assembly line. Every other truck has to be modified just to meet its list of standard equipment. It’s a good choice.

Thank you for your service at home and abroad sir! :patriot:

If all you do is touch the clutch pedal slightly and it goes away, it's probably the throw out bearing rattling against the pressure plate. In the video it looks like you're applying more than a slight touch though. Probably gear rollover.

What do you mean by “tightening” pin connections? Bending the contacts on the female side of the plug?
Yes.

IMG_1533.JPG
I used a dental pick tool.

Inserted in the small hole behind the terminal to tweak in on the wall of the terminal.
IMG_1536.JPG
To do an even better job, you can remove the white terminal cover by releasing the tabs on both sides.
IMG_1537.JPG
The white cover separates the teminals and holds them in the proper position. There's also release tabs down inside the black plastic part to fully remove the terminals from the housing.
IMG_1535.JPG
Then you can you can remove the terminal and tweak the spring loaded tab inside the female terminal through the little access hole on the side.

I haven't had to do that on a Dodge yet but I've done it a couple of times on Fords.
The Ford actually has one or two shims behind the clutch hub already and you just remove one of the shims to tighten up the clearance. Maybe it's the same on our trucks. It's worth a try!

Re: Strange A/C Problem

Thanks. Do you run an A/C shop? No, but I pretend like I do on the internet. :ugeek: Seriously though, without having gauges and a quality scan tool connected at the time the problem is occurring so you can read live data, it comes down to guess work. The options I've tried to explain are the most ...

Share more details about what you did with the first ProCal that left you in limp... Did it hang or freeze up? You said they sent you a second unit. That one didn't work for you either? Or were you still corrupt from the first one? OP said in this thread that the first unit wouldn’t even sync. The ...

Re: Locker Issues....

I don't know how fast you're moving when you try to engage your lockers, but activation is inhibited above 3 MPH. I turn my locker knob, then turn my steering wheel to cause rotational difference between the axles and just let the truck creep forward. Bingo every time!

Re: Strange A/C Problem

If you still have problems after that, the next component I would focus on is the fixed orifice tube that is built into the rear liquid line that runs between the condenser and the evaporator. If the orifice gets plugged, or in your case restricted, under extreme conditions it could cause the high s...

Re: Strange A/C Problem

If you want to continue your experiment of swapping parts, this is where I would go next. The sensor may be sending skewed data to the ECM. From the FSM: A/C Pressure Transducer OPERATION The A/C pressure transducer monitors the pressures in the high side of the refrigerant system through its connec...

The rebuilders must get their parts from somewhere, just need to find that source.
The current parts swapping culture seems to be making DIY rebuilding a thing of the past. :(

Re: Strange A/C Problem

I found this chart in the FSM. My numbers that I posted earlier were a little off, but I was speaking from a general rule of thumb perspective. You can see in the chart how ambient temp affects pressure and vent temp (64º output is normal and acceptable on a 110º day). I don't know what the high pre...

Re: Strange A/C Problem

Doubt the OP is overcharged. Since this "suddenly" happened and I'm sure he would have mentioned dicking with the charge... As I said earlier, ambient temperature plays a big part on high side pressure. There is a direct correlation between the two. If it's 80º outside and your high side pressure i...

Read the details about this item carefully before you purchase...
You get the throttle and shift mappings of 4-Lo whenever it is active!
Not to mention the fact that it doesn't play well with the CAD front axle. It works but will BANG if you're moving when you flip the switch.

Re: Strange A/C Problem

Weird things can happen with a low charge, I would start there. However it could also be overcharged causing the high pressure limit switch to trip. Ambient temperature plays a big part on high side pressure. I see more overcharged systems since auto parts stores started selling "DIY freon kits". On...

Snap-On scanners have the ability to read final drive control module/SmartBar codes and live data. Find a shop near you that offers free code reading and has a Snap-On or other professional grade scanner (Autel, OTC, Matco, Mac, etc.) and see if that can give you any more info to work with. Re: Locker Issues....

Do the 4WD and 4LOW indicator lights function properly on the instrument cluster and accurately correspond to the transfer case shifter position?

I've had a faulty transfer case position sensor inhibit my locker and swaybar function in the past.
