Re: Taking care of underbody rust...

My receipe for rust protection is wire wheel and welder brush the rust, apply rust converter then paint or black rocker guard then undercoat. I use proform undercoating and its been doing great. Costs 80$ for 5 gal istead of 80 for a gallon of fluid film... I live in nasty Nova-Scotia arguably the w...

Re: DIY hydro assist

I dont have pics of when i did mine. Basically you need to have one on each side of the piston that is inside the steering box. Refer to picture below, what you want is tap into and essentially steal some hydraulic pressure from the system and send it to your ram. You need to make sure you do not dr...

Re: 37s and hydraulic assist

Just did a thread last week about my homemade setup, http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4656 Used with 37" stt pro's and 35" hankook atm with a 8-1/2' 900lbs fisher V blade snowplow. Like mentionned above no more need to dick around, turn the wheels and tires will follow. I find...

Re: Winch removal/reinstall '14 Wagon

Re: DYI hydro assist

That remote reservoir setup looks trick! How much more capacity does it have from stock? I might look into setting one up, more fluid volume = better heat dissipation. Been running cool so far but its been quite a bit under freezing point around here lately. Hard rock trail in mid july might be anot...

Re: DYI hydro assist

Yes exactly stock feel during normal driving but when you need to, it will turn the wheels no matter what, before i'd have to move the truck fwd or back a bit to fight the wheels to where i wanted them. Now they just turn. Also saves a lot of strain on the steering box and drag link

Re: DYI hydro assist

I have the psc hydro assist. How is yours for quick steering input with the larger diameter shaft. I would assume it would be a bit slower than the box but you likely wouldn't notice it. Just curious. I'm happy with my setup too. Took a ton Of impact force on the highway that normally comes through...

Re: Alternator Repair

So that JX 13 part number is the one you used? When i google it, it always comes up as brush set for early 2000 toyota tundra with a 130 amp alt. I realise that there is a lot of parts that cross reference over a lot of different applications so its making me think if theres upgrades you could do to...

Re: Alternator Repair

Good to know, I've started to get CEL's for charging system related codes especially while doing long winch pulls with snow up to the rocker panels, not a good feeling... im gonna call around my local part stores to see if i can track one of those down that might very well fix that issue!

Re: DYI hydro assist

All you get in that kit is 2 hydraulic lines and some hardware. Go to your local hydraulic supply, buy 2 4' hoses and spend a quarter of that price. Colibri do you have pics of your setup? I'm curious to see how you did it. I always like to see what others did for future ideas and stuff. Did you pie...

I havent had it fully flexed yet, no way i can get it up to the bump stops in my small shop without taking the coils out but i did cyle it as much as i felt comfortable and i have no doubt everything will clear. DIY hydro assist

This has been a long term project of mine,I've researched the hell out of this mod for a while and actualy tapped the steering box early last summer when the box developed a leak at the input shaft and had it apart for a seal job, 1/4 npt is the threads i went with. I've been riding around with it a...

Re: Off and On Road Lights

Heres my setup, cheapest 52" curved i could find on amazon. Mounted in my own made brakets (1/8" steel plate) Then i realised it was stupid and useless cause it would glare so much inside thru the windshield on the dash. So I thought about solutions for a while and a simple glareshield deal right un...
