Is this place still alive?

Excuse me if I've posted this here in error.

But I'm pretty sure this place has been compromised in the past.

It's a shame, as I really liked it and wish it would return.

Re: Chains up front?

Just wanted to follow up on this post. I ended up getting cables for the front, from tirechainsonline.com (# 761C - for 315/70r17 tires) Put like 20 hard* miles on them, no issues. Other than a few scrapes on the outside cable clips from rocks *About half of this was high clearance Forest Service 4...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?

The year one trucks were problematic when it came to the smartbar and lockers. Mine faulted every time it got wet. They never could fix mine even with a new smartbar and a harness along with playing with it on and off for over a year. They finally gave me $ to trade it on an 07 (which I still have).

My 19 doesn't have one, so I guess I can skip it. I'm a lot older and just put my foot on the bumper and hoist myself up from the bed rail.

Re: Poll: Ram TRX vs Supercharged PW w/thuren king 37s

I would much rather they added a factory supercharger option to the PW.

From what little is known about the TRX it looks like it going to have an AWD torque splitting type system instead of a 2wd selection. Understandable given the HP, but not something I want.

No winch, no buy.

Re: Fault Code P0750 'Shift Solenoid A'

The 66RFE in my 16 was a complete piece of garbage. The solenoid pack was replaced once under the recall and again a year later. It still overheated climbing the mountain to my cabin when in 4WD,

Traded it for a 19 with the ZF and life is good again.

Re: Noticed my 2019 universal joints dont have clips 2019?

Most of OEM joints have been like that for a long time. I know GM was doing this back in the 90's or even earlier. I think they inject what seems to be nylon in there. You heat them with a rosebud until it squirts out the injection hole, then press them out. The yokes should still have grooves for s...

You have to ask yourself why you want one in the first place, then ask specific questions.

Not trying to be a dick, but worth it to me might not be even close for you.

Might be your tires too. The stock duracraps for example have a lot of roll on twisty roads compared to something with a 3 ply sidewall.

The fan on my 16 would sometimes roar for a mile or so down the road after a cold start. No rhyme or reason to it and it would eventually stop.

Of course now...... trans failed at 24,000 on a road trip. Had to leave at dealership in las vegas and keep going in rental. Lost all forward gears with no warning. Under warranty but......rather disappointing I must say!!! Perhaps the 8 speed in the 20 model is better. Anyone have good luck with t...

Is the elastic strap that secures the fold out cargo floor under the back seat snapped down? :P

There's just enough room for it to move and make a thumping noise when going over a bump if not.

LOL on getting another 8 mpg.

And you bought the wrong truck if you're concerned about fuel economy in any way, shape or form.

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

What about you guys with the 2019 and newer trucks? Have they made any improvements with the "Traction Control Off" button or is it still cutting throttle response even when it's turned off? Have any of you tried pulling the #F2, #F9 or #F11 fuses to check the "start-ability" of the truck with each...

Good luck.

My 3 year experience with the 66 RFE in my 16 was not good and that was with stock tires and gearing.

2019 Active noise cancelling= loud low rpm noise?

Hard to explain, but when I'm climbing up the mountain to my cabin the truck will get loud if the rpm drops in 3rd gear trying to hold a steady speed on a flatter spot. Goes away if I force a downshift. Almost like a jake brake noise only going uphill. You'd almost think the MDS came on going uphill...

Drove it and used 4wd and lockers for the last six days. [emoji14] That’s an amazing week if 6 out of 7 days you were in 4wd and using lockers. Had the Power Wagon in its natural habitat haha [emoji23] The first 5 days were spent trying to get the front locker to work. [emoji38] Lol. Probabl...

Re: Powerwagon's best model year 2005-2020?

Good and bad in all of them.

I still drive my 2007 almost every day. It's simple, has better forward visibility offroad and just works.
The 19 has a very refined ride and interior by comparison. The 6.4 combined with the ZF trans is a good match. It feels huge compared to the 07.

Re: 2012 vs 2019

I am really curious, the 2019 design is very different. One button locks both for instance. So far I have not heard any complaints. But will be interesting to see if they finally addressed it. There's really no difference other than they replaced the knob with buttons. You get a button for rear and...

Re: The "Real Reliability"

I think they really made some huge gains in the 19s. I say that having owned nothing but these trucks since 05. Going from the 16 to the 19 was a huge jump in every aspect. As for the lockers ,,I don't use the front locker much but the rear locks as soon as you push the button. The 8 speed ZF is a d...
