Re: 2012 vs 2019

I am really curious, the 2019 design is very different. One button locks both for instance. So far I have not heard any complaints. But will be interesting to see if they finally addressed it. There's really no difference other than they replaced the knob with buttons. You get a button for rear and...

Re: The "Real Reliability"

I think they really made some huge gains in the 19s. I say that having owned nothing but these trucks since 05. Going from the 16 to the 19 was a huge jump in every aspect. As for the lockers ,,I don't use the front locker much but the rear locks as soon as you push the button. The 8 speed ZF is a d...

Re: Axle unlock flashing orange

Sorry for the lack of info, it flashes whether you are stationary or moving, in 2wd or 4wd hi. Also, couldn't find anything about it in the 2019 owners manual. Made an appt with the dealer to bring it in. Will keep ya'll posted in case anyone else in the future has this problem. Ray https://cdn.dea...

Re: Axle unlock flashing orange

Did you push the button again to unlock it? They'll trip from locked once you get over 25 mph or so.

Like above, not enough details.

Re: 2012 vs 2019

I traded a 16 on a 19. Big difference in the two, IMHO. I hated the trans in the 16 so it was worth it to me.

Re: Parksense Sensors

I turned all of mine off when I picked up the truck and left them off. So, no problems.

ETA, I think there's a screen option where you can adjust the sensitivity. If that doesn't help, just take it back if it's a 19 under warranty.

Re: Does your sunroof leak?

I suppose I can not say I’ve cleaned the lines to the bottom of the truck. They seem clear but I guess ensuring they are couldn’t hurt. Thank you. Sunroof issues cross all platforms/brands. They really can be a PITA in any vehicle. You may have to pull the A pillar covers and have someone pour wate...

Re: Does your sunroof leak?

So, I ordered this truck from the factory and ordered it w/out clearance lights. It showed up on the transport truck and I signed papers while it was being prepped. From that day I drove it home, it has always had a subtle shake to it. The tailgate does not sit level and I suspected it had been tie...

Plugged drain lines?

Can't help other than that. I don't buy vehicles with sunroofs.

Re: Sliders and active tune mass module

The MDS is much more active in the 19 trucks with the 8 speed than my 16-6 speed, and at lower RPMs in lower gears. I'm pretty sure that's the reason for the ATMMs in the first place.

Re: New appreciation for my truck

I'm in the forested Appalachians, so the size of these trucks can make things difficult on "Jeep trails" VS more open open country. Small trucks and Jeeps can squeak through and under stuff that I can't. I carry two chain saws in the bed. :P Turning them around on a wooded mountain trail can be a ch...

Re: 2014+ Front Ends Vs 2013 and Older

To be honest, I haven't kept any of the new trucks long enough to have had an issue with ball joints. I think I traded the 16 with 42K on it and the front end was fine.

The 3G trucks were another story.

Rent a press, they're not that hard to do. For that kind of money you could just buy a decent one and still have money in your pocket. Plus you can check the unit bearings while you have it apart.

Re: 2018 PW Leak behind Front Axle

Anybody heard about people having much trouble with the cad in these new trucks? I haven't had any trouble with them (so far). A little pop once in a while that makes me cringe. Pretty sure that from the shift collar not being fully engaged. Usually happens when I pull 4H going up the mountain thro...

Re: 2018 Transmission Failure

I wasn't impressed with the 66RFE in my 16. Had the solenoid pack changed twice. Traded it on a 19 with the ZF. Completely different animal.

Surprisingly, the 545RFE in the 07 chugs right along.

Re: 2018 PW Leak behind Front Axle

i would of thought the seal was inboard of the cad but maybe not. while i do have a service manual, ive never needed to look at the front axle pages. ram couldnt be stupid enough to not have some kind of replacable paper or oring seal. then again, the dummies made the thermo housing with no replaca...

Re: Sliders and active tune mass module

Is it safe to assume my 2018 does not have the active tune module? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I believe they were added in 19. You can just crawl under the truck and look to be sure. They are pretty much located on the outside of the frame under the front seats. Look like a plastic quart ca...

why didnt you determine what kind of fluid it was ? seems easy enough. diagnosing a leak is the same regardless of vehicle type hard to tell from the photo. could be coolant or maybe engine oil from above. i dont believe theres supposed to be gear oil near the cad so if its gear oil you have a inne...

CAD. (Axle disconnect) I've never had one leak there. I don't think it's even supposed to have diff fluid in that section. Been a while, but I always thought it was dry.

Try to buckle the seat belt. Autopark makes me want to kick a lawyer into a shark tank, but that would be cruel to the sharks.

Forgot to add,,autopark is disabled in 4 low.

Re: Sliders and active tune mass module

I'd guess the sliders themselves are resonating and amplifying that vibration due to the fact that they are mounted to the frame and stick out a few feet from that mounting point. Maybe you can get the dealer to shut the AMMs off.

The AMMs are the reason I haven't put them on my 19 yet.
