Re: Rock sliders

I have a set built buy local shop similar to WK . Saw the Randy Ellis after we got done building them. You do not loose as much clearance as mine. And I am curious why they are not really considered sliders. Some people assume all body mounted options are steps despite the engineering and thought b...

Re: 2018 Power Wagon, White Rhino

I need to work up an inexpensive, removable, lockable bed mount spare tire carrier. I'm thinking a flush mount plate w/flange that I can screw down a tire/wheel to. I think I have a fairly simple solution that I can run a steal cable/padlock through but would like to see what others have done. Wilc...

I might have a few 37s around   :jawdrop:

Fresh set on the truck. Old set going on the RTT trailer. Spares for PW, Trailer, and Buggy, and some to part with.

Re: Winch rope

If I had to do it over again I'd buy a 60' winch line and a 60' extension. 1/2" is completely overkill, the breaking strength of synthetic rope is not the main failure mode, it is abrasion. Agreed. A positive if running about 75% of max capacity allows for uneven spooling. Such as an extended side ...

Who has mounted their cradle directly to their air bag bottom vs mounting the cradle to the axle bump stop pads? What are folks’ opinions on the two different options?
My plan would be on the axle. My feeling is that there is the potential for the assembly to slip sideways if not bolted in.

Re: Suspension question...again

Ordered some Carli Hemi 3" coils and 2.5s from CJC on Friday, and got the delivery notification by noon on Tuesday. Really excited to get some real shocks on the blue whale! Now I need to lay down a bunch of miles on my 35" RT's so I can justify upping to a 37"... 20k on them and still lots left in...

Thanks still on rope about 37 I am very pleased with it on 35. Have looked at aev protacall, price was fair just hated to have to pay dealer also. Anybody offer any other ways to correct for tire size? The dealer visit is only needed for the tire pressure setting. I have no qualms about running 37s...

As stated, hell no in non-flex fuel vehicles.

Less energy per gallon in E85, drops economy down to being comparable $/Mile.

Re: Suspension question...again

I've been running 37x12.5 Toyo RTs on stock Suspension for almost 1.5 years now. Initially on stick wheels, turning radius is limited some from rubbing on sway bar and/or frame with the occasional catch of the fender liner to the rear. Now on aftermarket wheels with +18 offset, I trimmed about 6" of...

- I think the weight is the primary difference, ideally, the shock valving should be designed to work in conjunction with a specific set of springs. Carli uses different Hemi and diesel springs, Thuren uses diesel springs for everything. Whoa, wait, Thuren's website lists Hemi & Diesel springs sepa...

I'm glad I don't tow this big sails of RVs. Really hit me last week coming back across TX, seeing all that surface area above and next too a couple trucks with enclosed car haulers or RVs. All stock 2016 with 37" Toyo RTs. I've got no real concerns with how mine performs. Most time towing seems to j...

Questions...

Fit 1 of my Baja Design Squadrons in the light holes?
How much room on top for a S8 (3" deep) or Onx6 (4.39" deep)?
Is the fair lead opening bigger than stock? Can't fit a Factor55 Flatlink in the stock opening.

Re: Shock Options that don't require new springs?

I don't think anyone makes a hemi specific rear lift coil. Well, come to think of it, why would the rear's be cummin's or hemi specific in the first place? The only reason why there are different ones for the two engines is because of the drastic weight difference.... which obviously doesn't amount...

Re: Portable Air Compressor

Duty Cycle is percentage of time a unit can run (typically over 10 minutes). 33% would be able to run for 3:20 out of every 10 minutes. The key part of the Viair spec is 33% at 100 psi. It can run longer at lower PSI. It wouldn't be very good at dealing with being plumbed into a tank. I've used mine...
