2016 Factory Parts

Hey guys, I’ve been sitting on a bunch of my factory 2016 parts for years in case I didn’t like the aftermarket stuff. So far so good but I am tired of them taking up space in the garage. Most of these were taken off around 15k miles, with the exception of the steering stabilizer and swaybar links w...

Re: Rambox Panel Warping

Scoutpappa, man I hear you on the dealership incompetence. My truck went through 2 complete sets of Rambox lids and 3 sets of panels. They were NEVER installed correctly by the “factory certified technicians” and the truck hasn’t been back since for so much as an oil change because they can’t be tru...

Good looking out olyelr, I noticed that when I put the track bar on. Just some sheathing that separated. Thanks for the reminder though, I need to wrap it up.

Trying out some of the new Thuren parts. This spot used to get at least 1 tire off the ground... Not any more! :cash: Hot damn! That’s one sexy truck you’ve built. One of the few new trucks that make me think twice about buying a newer truck than my 3rd gen. Did you do the rear diff cover with a st...

I unbolted the shocks and used a coil compressor, that’s it.

Re: Wheel Bearing/Hub Recommendation

Thanks for the tips Marcus, I’ll probably go that route. Can’t believe these are going bad already but they definitely have play and I get some weird resonance feeling from the front axle when going downhill. Not always at the same speed either which I think eliminates the driveshaft. I like the fre...

Wheel Bearing/Hub Recommendation

Have any of you guys replaced wheel hubs on a 5th Gen 2500? I’ve been chasing an intermittent shimmy in the front end for months and have eliminated all other variables I can think of, both of my wheel bearings have play (only 34k miles) and could be the culprit so I’m looking for any recommendation...

Re: 2.5s versus 3" Kings

I did a lot of shock testing in off-road racing before getting the car dialed in to win races with the help of a “medicine man” who is trusted by many champions. I found that a bigger shock buys you time (cooling), not comfort. That comes from the valving and addition of bypass tubes. A 3.0 will do ...

Re: Thuren Rear Sway Bar Link Clearance Issue W/ Diff Guard

I think Marcus installed mine upside down so the zerks were protected. I assumed that was the “right-side up” way. Well glad to see I’m not the only one that came across the issue, luckily I don’t typically have the truck weighed down so the removed bar is hardly noticeable. Just wanted to put the ...

Re: Thuren Rear Sway Bar Link Clearance Issue W/ Diff Guard

All it's doing is wearing off paint. It seems to just rub. I'm more concerned with the fact that the end links are so long they make contact with the ground every time I climb any obstacle. Isn’t that with a 1” spacer on the coils? So you likely have an additional inch of up travel before it makes ...

Re: Thuren Rear Sway Bar Link Clearance Issue W/ Diff Guard

The diesel guys with high volume diff covers have this problem too. It sounds like an armored one piece cover instead of a bolt on guard is a better solution. You'd probably still need a spacer though. The spacer would have to be very thick, at least an inch if not more. To be honest, I was never a...

Re: Thuren Rear Sway Bar Link Clearance Issue W/ Diff Guard

Sounds like the center of the sway bar would hit the diff cover, and if the truck needed to compress further it would just load up the sway bar on both sides (then it would be a compression bar?). Maybe damage the powder coat on the spider depending on where it hits? The sway bar is a spring, so I’...

Thuren Rear Sway Bar Link Clearance Issue W/ Diff Guard

Just a friendly notice for anyone who may be doing Thuren rear coils with extended links on a 2014+ Power Wagon: IF you have a rear differential guard, be aware that the extended links can position the sway bar down too low and make contact with the guard during suspension travel. In my case, I have...

The only half ton with the short 5.5’ box is the full crew cab model, which can also come with the full size 6.5’ box like our trucks have. The short 4 door and regular cab come with the same size box we have also. Never once have I seen a long bed 1500 with Ramboxes, is it even an option? I see th...

Re: Fender Flares

The 1500’s have shorter boxes and a different design, the lids won’t swap. They all will end up warping eventually so the body lines don’t line up. I truly believe if they had a latch on either end instead of just one in the center, 95% of the warping and tape issues would go away. A spring pushing ...
