Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

If you go with DOR steering let us know... curious about it Damagewagon should chime in but dor steering might not be a reccommend action. At least their drag link. He just broke it  and they refused to consider it a product failure. Since it broke in the parking lot Ordered a new OEM center...

Need some input... should i paint match my fender or stay with black
I vote black, especially if you have the two-tone black stripe on the bottom. For some reason color-matched flares always look funny to me, I like a little contrast.

Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

You may want to pull the pitman arm down and inspect for signs of twisting damage on the sector shaft splines, right above the pitman arm. With the pitman arm out of the way, you can eyeball the entire length of spline for uniformity. I've seen it on other vehicles before, it's worth a look anyway....

Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

The threads are the weakest part of the bar. The jam nuts probably loosened when the threads deformed. I'm not sure how you managed a direct hit since the drag link is above the tie rod. Maybe you impacted the tire hard enough to collapse the bar? You are correct, no contact was made with any linka...

Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

This should fix other damage and prevent it from happening again. Oh, and it’s on sale! http://www.pscmotorsports.com/garage-sale/09-2015-dodge-2500-3500-extrerme-cylinder-assist-steering-kit.html My ‘11 pitman does angle slightly downward but I’m not sure if it’s the same part as yours. Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

Does anyone know if the pitman arm on our trucks has a slight bend in it? I'm measuring a 5 degree difference from the shaft angle to the drag link angle. Is mine bent or meant to be from the factory?

Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

Custom bent for lower center of gravity? This had to have done other damage and I’m just not seeing it. I’m anticipating joints will go bad on this side first, just a wild guess.

Re: Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

Thanks for the response. Yup, bent at the threads right before the adjustment collar, on the wheel side. I had a feeling the computer would flip with the steering wheel crooked. It triggered the warning after I got back in to 2HI and picked up some speed, which I believe is when most of these sensor...

Bent Drag Link/ABS System Error

Yesterday morning in my '16 while exploring some awesome ghost towns by Essex, I hit one of those iceberg-type rocks that probably makes up the majority of our planet (yes, it had gravitational pull). Was in 4-low, unlocked, making a right turn in a tight spot and thought it would clear, but s...

Re: Fender Flares

Any drilling is under the wheel well where screws attach... Same as i bought just textured So drilling the plastic liner, not the flare itself? I assumed they used the factory mounting holes. I figure they should stick out about another inch from the factory flares. Any plans to put yours on soon? ...

:cash: https://i.redd.it/b5mcjxq3j6dx.jpg Do they come in black? These are the ones I’m looking at, I’m a fan of the textured look. I think the standard black makes the wheel well look bigger and the tire smaller, I’m thinking these will break up the dark colors a little bit. I don’t like pai...

Re: Fender Flares

ChromolyKid, it's too damned hot in California if your truck is melting all the time. Funny you say that! I legitimately believe the dark color is mostly to blame for all my Rambox and fender flare issues. Should’ve bought white. I have had those flares in my watchlist on ebay forever. If it'...

Fender Flares

How many of you have tried aftermarket fender flares? I’ve had 6 of mine replaced on Furiosa under warranty because the tape lets go and they warp away from the truck, I’m tired of dealing with it and want to try something else. I don’t see too many options out there, Bushwackers are ridiculously pr...

Re: Balance beads ?

A lot of good advice above. I tried balance beads for a few rotations. They work okay, but just okay. Won’t ever use them again, though. These trucks are oddly sensitive to slight imbalances. Road force balancing has worked best so far.

Re: The random 4wd shift in progress continues.

Mine does the same but only after sitting through a cold night, and only for the first few miles going down the road. Bumps seem to make it happen more frequently. After warming up it goes away. Dealer was also unable to recreate it. I’ve read on the Cummins forums it is usually solved with a new tr...

Re: Any Ordering Advice

I ordered my '16 with everything but Nav and dual alts. Where I'm going, the Nav won't help anyways. If I had to do it again, I would NOT get the Ramboxes. My truck has spent over a year of it's life at the dealership for those terribly designed lids. On the 2500's, they will warp and separate. I re...

Re: Raptor vs. Power Wagon vs. ZR2

Love reading articles like this confirming what I've experienced since 2015! I do wish that Ram had done a better job with our transmission behavior, I felt like the characteristics listed for the zr2 are quite similar to the way my power wagon behaves albeit the 6.4 isn't a gutless wonder below 25...

Re: Raptor vs. Power Wagon vs. ZR2

The TRX will have all the things you mentioned. 37's, Dynatrac rear with locker, 6.2 with supercharger, hill descent, "baja" mode and all those other gimmicks (just let me turn the nannies off already), KING shocks, and the 8-speed that works so well in the Hellcats and the Rebels. This is what I he...

Re: Raptor vs. Power Wagon vs. ZR2

Just wait for the TRX... Ram will have the off-road truck market cornered between it and the PW. I know several Raptor owners who will trade their weed-whacker trucks in the second the TRX is available. Ford will have to put a V8 (Coyote?) back in their truck to be competitive. Don't get me wrong, I...

Re: Thuren .5'' springs

I consider any movement of the steering wheel during equal suspension cycling to be bumpsteer. Solid axle trucks will always have bumpsteer, it's simple geometry. Learn to anticipate it and all is right in the world. I typically keep a loose grip over known rough spots and let the wheel do it's thin...

Congrats on buying the best shocks on the market! They work phenomenal on the race car. Really tempted to buy some for Furiosa but I keep hearing rumors of the TRX releasing soon and if they're true, there will be a '16 PW in the classifieds. :cash:

Re: Replacing exhaust OEM or Aftermarket?

$700 for aftermarket exhaust?? Is that with one turbo or two? A decent muffler should run $100-$150, and a shop will probably charge $50-$100 for install. I recommend Jones Turbines. No chambers to impede flow or break off and rattle, stainless steel, sound is excellent and a noticeable increase in ...

I was gonna chime in but you answered your own question already. I had the same concerns when I compared them haha. Sticking with stock rears on mine though for the occasional heavy camp gear or race trailer.
