Re: Oil Loss/Consumption???

I'm going to add my truck to this list. 2010 w/ 150xxx miles. Use about a quart every 1,000-1,500 miles. Truck runs great, good oil pressure, no smoke noticed. I have always used syn 5w20 but switched from cheaper oriely brand to mobil1 and it seems to have increased oil consumption. Considering it ...

Re: Overland Bed Rack

Sweet, I can finally post in this thread after almost two years of dreaming this up :P I wanted full use of the bed, be able to cover all my gear with the tonneau cover, and keep the tent below the roof line. Cover can still be rolled up, pretty useful. https://preview.ibb.co/eCQoCv/IMG_20170703_113...

Re: Waseca or Rochester, MN

I dated a girl who grew up in Owatona. She liked it, its a small town but nice. I drive through it on my way to Albert Lea every month (my Guard unit is there). I currently work up north in the "Iron Range." Gilbert, one of the towns in the range, has an OHV park and is probably the best off roading...

Re: Waseca or Rochester, MN

you have a gas engine, you wont need a block heater. Rochester is a good sized town, southern MN. I live by the twin cities and way up north but actually applied to the rochester FD. I dont know much about it but seems like a growing place. Good luck in your move. I've lived in MN for 17 years now a...

Re: 37 in spare

I've always just kept it strapped in the bed... Only time it comes out is if im loading the bed with dirt/mulch/rock which isnt that often. Otherwise I just work around it. Not the most convenient but I hate not being prepared.

Re: Duratracs have to go, need options.

BFG KO2's are just an excellent all-around tire that also rides quiet on the highway. Some older BFG's had issues with balancing but the new ones balance out great. Can't speak too much on snow performance because I have nothing to compare to, I used Furiosa to pull stranded cars up a steep hill on...

Re: Fan stuck on?

this may seem a little silly but have you tried accelerating hard? My truck was doing the same after i took it out of storage (sat for 4 months while i was in basic). No matter what my speed the fan kept swirling away, I was being tender on the gas pedal. I punched it and it popped the thermostat or...

Re: Would going to 305s be too small of a difference?

Going to get some new shoes. Not too happy with anything about the Duratracs. Seems the Toyo AT2 get some good reviews so Im going to give them a shot. Was originally thinking 35s, but the PW is my DD. I dont want to sacrifice TOO much in the way of performance, towing, and of course Mpg's. The 305...

Re: Would going to 305s be too small of a difference?

I have 285/75/17 Toyo A/T II's on my truck and I feel like it was a good size for what I do. Naturally the 12 year old inside of me wanted 37's, but for now I'm happy with my choice. I'm still a 12 y/o :thppt: I dont think you can go wrong either way. Your truck will do fine with 35s, I noticed a m...

Went to the auto show and for the first time they actually had not one, but two PW's! I found this one tucked in an upstairs room and it almost made me make a bad financial decision... :excited: I love the color combo and think the new 3rd brake light is slick https://s13.postimg.org/8ip43ptmv/IMG_2...

Re: Winch Replacement, possibly aftermarket? Please Help!!

Since it sounds like you're open to it I think the best bet is to go with a factory take off. You will see them periodically for sale on here or on the CL find thread. This way you know everything will match and and function as intended. Not saying you couldn't make something else work it just depen...

Re: Roof Top Tents - Suggestions

Since he revived the thread. Anyone have experience with CVT or Tepui tents. And what's your opinion of them? Our little excursion into eastern Oregon yesterday convinced me we want to get a RTT for the Power Wagon and to start camping with the girls. The Airstream is a wee bit to big for off-grid ...
