Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
I understand your concerns and maybe by using the term "adjustable" I created some confusion. I am building a do it all go anywhere rig. Like I have said in previous posts I am not a newbie to the off-road game. I have had several purpose built tube chassis rock crawlers and a few dirt trucks to inc...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Thanks on all the positive comments. I am a loyal customer of Carli and believe that make the best stuff out there for Ram trucks. My last Ram was a deleted twin turbo 6.7 that had the unchained 3 inch kit. That truck was beyond badass but after the Power Wagons came out I knew I needed one. I wish ...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
3.0's will not pass through the frame rails on the 14+ Ram. As far as the balancing goes they balanced with old school hammer on wheels weights; however, prior to putting a wheel together I weighed all the bolts with washers and nuts together. I took the weight of the lightest one and hit the others...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Finished the Carli Suspension and mounted the wheels and tires today. Very happy with the outcome, now I can get some much deserved sleep. I installed the complete Carli 3 inch lift to include upper and lower stabilizers, drop brackets, front and rear coil springs and track bar. I decided to hold of...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Wheels back from powder coat and put together. Wheel is high gloss black with a clear coat and the rings are wrinkle black to match the bumper. Mounting tires tomorrow.

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
I finished all the wheels last night and dropped them off at the powder coaters. Should be done today, I will post photos later tonight after I put them together. Until then here is another project I knocked out. I replaced the front and rear rotors and pads with the best EBC has to offer.

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
I am no stranger to rock crawlers, I have had a bunch. In the tube chassis rock crawler game you have to have true beadlocks to run crazy low tire pressures. My last samurai had 43 inch tires on H1 beadlocks I ran zero tire pressure. Being in the rock crawler game I have learned a few things. On our...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Got one of the wheels welded up today. Welded it solid then ground and smoothed the inner wheel lip to perfection. Test fit the ring and it spun true. I think the only wheel balancing problems I will have will be due to the 32 grade 8 bolts, washers, and lock nuts. Very happy with the out come. I am...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Let me know how it turns out. I would love to do the same. I would want the crossed arrows and dagger with a "5" in the center. Nice to see a fellow brother on here, De Oppresso Liber.

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
It's from my service in 5th Special Forces Group, hence the crest in the corner. Carried the same theme on the tailgate. It's hard to see in the photos but the tailgate letters have the topo lines in the letters to match the hood.

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
On my last trail drive I banged my bumper into a rock and bent the bottom half of the bumper a little. I found another bumper and decided a few weeks ago that it would be the perfect test piece to find a powder coater in my area. I had them powder coat the bumper with texture black powder coat and i...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
After a lot of work the wheels have been sandblasted and re-centered into the new hoops. The next step is welding the new inner rings and making sure everything is true. Gone are the 17x7.5 steel wheels with a redicoulous backspacing of 6.25. The wheels are now 17x9 with a 5.5 backspacing. This shou...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
By using the factory steel wheel I have the same factory profile and the factory center cap will work without any issue. The goal is to have an all black "factory" wheel with a beadlock only with the proper width and offset for the Toyos. Plus I like a challenge and the head scratchs. These are the ...

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
The tires came in today and I got my inner and outer rings cut out of 3/16 steel. They look pretty good just sitting in the tire. Hopefully the wheel hoops will be here tomorrow and I can start cutting wheels apart.

Re: Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
Yes it will be a lot of trouble, but it's also going to be a challenge. I am used to people giving me grief on my ideas and projects until I am done then they want me to build it for them. I decided on steel wheels because I use my PW for its original intent. Steel wheels may have there disadvantage...

Factory Ram Steel Beadlock wheels
I am starting a new build. I purchased a set of Ram 2500 steel wheels in 17x7.5. These are the same wheels used for the spare tire. I plan is to cut the centers out and weld them into 17x9 wheel hoops with the correct backspacing then convert them to either true bead locks or simulated bead locks. T...

Re: "Welcome Thread"
New to the forum, I recently got out of the Cummins game and purchased a 2015 Tradesman Power Wagon, do not regret the decision one bit. I have already installed Carli Suspension front track bar, steering stabilizer, drop brackets, and rear swaybar links. Waiting patiently for the Hemi specific coils...
