Re: Coil bucket/shock mounts mod

Carli has a cantilever system for the rear that uses 3.0’s, could possibly go even bigger. It’s likely pretty spendy though

Re: Thuren King 2.0 IFP shocks for sale

Don’t mix and match shocks and springs from Carli and Thuren. They have very different valving profiles and spring rates. Totally different tuning philosophy between the two companies. Thuren springs are wound to give you a specific ride height and he lets the shocks do the rest. Carli springs give ...

Re: Carli Radius Arms

The Carli arms are beefy but don’t have provision for the power wagon articulink. You will have more roll resistance and less flex than stock. Wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve been thinking about buying a new dually tow pig, and would consider them for that, only because I wouldn’t lift it and so would p...

Re: Oil Loss/Consumption???

Maybe consider doing a compression test. If that comes up normal I'd be inclined to suggest trying a catch can on your pcv system.

Re: Steering Braces

Dor is not the only game in town for smartbar compatible steering gear braces. DT profab makes a double sided brace that is notched to fit around the swaybar actuator. I used one for several years until I went with a torsion bar, it's a quality piece that makes a noticeable difference in steering fe...

Damn it! lol I thought he already had 2.0's and was just upgrading one end at a time from there. Reading comprehension is lacking I guess.

NO do not mix and match shocks like that.

Re: King 2.5 and 2.0 combo

My understanding was the rear would be 2.0 temporarily until he could afford to replace them. If that's the case go ahead. If you mean as a permanent solution then no.

Re: King 2.5 and 2.0 combo

It won't be an issue for normal driving on or off road. The rear will fade quickly compared to the front if you go bombing through baja though lol.

Re: Rear bumpers options

If you're hitting and scraping your stock bumper why get an aftermarket replacement with worse clearance? Road armor etc. will hit and scrape worse. Check out mercenary Offroad and thurens bumper offerings. Also ocf fabrication and creative Fabworks. All of those will offer better clearance and high...

Re: Occasionally exceeding payload?

I haul past published capacity at times, the difference between a wagon and regular gas 2500 is softer suspension period. A set of timbrens or air bags will make your occasional overload no problem.

Don't get frustrated with seemingly slow progress. It takes time to heal and you will probably never be 100% agian especiallwith your advanced age  Just imagine if that had happened 100 years ago you would probably never have been able to use that arm agian at all! Re: 06 repower

Mopar crate 6.4 with 485 horsepower runs about 7k these days. Otherwise if you need to repower on more of a budget you can freshen up your bottom end and clean up the heads pretty cheaply. Throw a cam in while you have it apart and proceed another 500k
