Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

I still want a 4:1 transfer case or a better crawl ratio. I can barely hold my truck anymore in 1st gear low. Pretty disappointing. This is the route I’m going when the time comes Boldadventures, might be worth a look for you. An atlas or stak aren’t really meant for vehicles our size http://www.tr...

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Okay fellas, things are about to start happening again. Got the new pump and reservoir ordered along with supplies for making new hoses and fire sleeving them. Just have to pull the gear and have Howe look it over. Also talked to Ron Davis Radiators today, I’m going to pull the radiator out and ship...

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

I have a pressurized reservoir with an overflow tank breather. Shouldn’t be a problem at all unless the accumulator is bigger than a quart or so

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

I’d be all over beta testing an accumulator if you want to play around with the idea? What’s one of those .5 liter Parker’s run? I assume you’d need a one way valve upstream of it to keep it from backfeeding the pump? I’m likely upping my pressure side hose to -8 anyway so new Plumbing is in the wor...

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Tim have you ever seen an accumulator used in power steering, in an application this small? Basically a pressurized tank with oil in it, a dividing bladder and a nitrogen charge to keep it pressurized, made up for lack of pump flow while punches were in use. I think that might be a 100% solution he...

Re: Low_Sky's Build - 2015 Power Wagon Laramie

For the terrain you deal with I’d say 37’s would be almost mandatory. And if you’re going to upsize, it would be irresponsible of you not to truss the axle as a basic safety precaution. It’s just protecting your investment after all. And why of course gears would be necessary to keep the transmissio...

Oh hell, I replaced my master cylinder a while back and had to bench bleed it with special fittings. I can’t remember off the top of my head but I’ll try and find those fittings and I’ll let you know what thread pitch/size they are.

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

That we’ll have to see, I don’t know. But serpentine belts can be had in just about any length you could need. You’ll want a 6 rib belt and likely 1 to 1.5 inches shorter than stock if you find it necessary. The numbers on your belt will tell you it’s oal so it’s easy to ask for a specific smaller s...

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Then you can easily swap to a tc pump or use the pulley from one to over drive your stock pump

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

The TC pump uses sealed ball bearings and oem seems to use a mix of sealed bearings and bushings. Flow control strategies are different with the TC being superior in my opinion. All together the oem pump seems decent but doesn’t have the aftermarket support to build past stock requirements.

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Vanes are roughly the same size.

The oem pump uses a 3 piece flow control design with a piston sliding in a machined bore and a coil spring that is housed in the output fitting of the pump

The TC pump uses a machined plate and thick coil spring inside the body of the pump to regulate flow.

Re: Boogie wagon take 2

Oem pump gear set is slightly larger displacement by the look of things, but the tc gear set is thicker in cross section.

Both function the same in the pump, but the pressure regulation is where the TC pump starts to gain the advantage
