Re: 2019 1500 Info Release

I was a master tech for Nissan for many years, I remember a couple years back this new Altima came in that would intermittently shutdown the engine while driving. After a hell of a diagnostic headache it turned out the passengers vanity mirror/light wiring was nicked by one of the screws that held t...

Re: Transmission issue.

If it’s not fluid related I’d think likely culprits would be a faulty shift solenoid or a speed sensor. From there I gets into internal mechanical failure of some sort. Electrical issues seem more likely to me on a newer truck

Re: Recovery gear questions!

How many of you guys carry a snatch rope? I had a strap, it was alright, stretched about 15%. Never lasted though, and once they started to fray, they were trashed (safety concern, even though they might still work). I got a Bubba Rope about a year ago, and while it was expensive, it's insane how w...

Re: Recovery gear questions!

3/8” grade 80 for general use and for winching with the hilift is what I’ve always used. Working load limit lines up nicely that way with the jack

Re: Dodge Off Road brand reliability

I have no personal animosity towards Danny/DOR, and if he has matured as a business owner and wants to be an active part of our community then more power to him. My problem is and has always been that he writes off what he did with Thurens domain name as a kind of “no big deal/I was just messing wit...

Re: Recovery gear questions!

http://www.swagoffroad.com/Bottle-Jack-Axle-Cradle_p_66.html A bottle jack with one of these is extremely useful offroad and much easier to store securely than a hilift. Stable and easy to use, and quite versatile. This has become my go to jacking solution. The one caveat is I don’t encounter muddy ...

Re: snorkel guys .. need your input

I actually have noticed I have to clean the filterless, especially since I made sure it's all sealed. I would imagine if you keep the stock unit and use the pre-filter it should stay cleaner. Interesting observation, you can hear the intake sucking from outside the vehicle if you stand by it when i...

Did you not get the stainless shafts? With some minor trimming of the cross bed supports you can flip the shocks body up.

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

When Thuren regeared his truck for the 38’s he had a dealership do it and used oem AAM parts. Preserved the warranty that route apparently He used the gears out of a PW. I would not let the shop he used touch my truck; Don had a good experience with them but I know several people that have not. To ...

Re: Recovery gear questions!

You’ve got a pretty comprehensive kit going sounds like. I’ve carried both a hilift 60” and pull pal in my truck for years and never once used them to recover myself. There’s plenty of rocks and trees to winch from in my area, so the Pul-Pal only comes along for the beach or desert these days. I too...

I think it would fit on the other side probably, I welded in a front driveshaft safety hoop on my truck to avoid that very problem though.

Re: Winching and Recovery 101

Piece together, that way you can get exactly what you need. I went Masterpull winchline, bubbarope snatch straps, van beest shackles, and factor 55 flat link. Masterpull again for snatch blocks and a pull pal winch anchor with maxtrax boards. Cherrypick from the companies that do their thing best in...
