Re: Is there an exhaust fix

Stage8 has a locking fastener kit for the exhaust manifolds that is really well engineered and made.
https://www.stage8.com/product/8916-dod ... -bolt-kit/

Never tried it with a stock manifold, but fantastic with headers

May want to add some extra insulation sleeve to the shift cable if it’s routed through the primaries

Doable, but definitely a pain in the ass. I’ve used ratchet straps and a floor jack to pull bumper brackets before

Re: Rear drive shaft replacement?

If I remember correctly I went with the 1480 u joints. I had to notch my rear crossmember for extra droop travel when I did the bypasses and upper shock mounts out back, so it just clears. Stock travel might fit without trimming but I don’t know for sure

I got their HD aluminum rear shaft and it makes the factory part look like a cheap knockoff toy.

Re: 14+ 5.13 Gears, Noisy?

My 5.13’s are quiet running, can’t hear them over other sounds with windows open. They’re nitro brand that I had REM isotropically superfinished and cryo treated and I set to .006-7 on the tight side of spec because one of the benefits gained in processing them in that manner is more stable contact ...

Re: Opinions on light placement

Just have to be mindful of glare off the hood when you mount lights up there, it can make it very difficult to see clearly if you’re washing out the hood/foreground. I don’t have personal experience with the light you’re asking about up there as I mostly use Baja designs. Good luck with whatever you...

Re: Hemi Towing coolant and transmission Temperatures?

Coolant temp is okay from around 195/205 up to around 230 or sounder heavy load, that’s pretty normal. Also consider that your oil temperatures can be 10-20 degrees higher than coolant especially under load. ATF+4 is pretty decent stuff, it’ll handle high temps better than some fluids, but ideally I...

These trucks can take a lot of very expensive damage from the front cardan letting go, if it’s making a lot of noise (angry birds) safest bet is to take it off until you can rebuild it

Rodeoflyer had his transmission rebuilt with one of these, may want to ask him about it

You can get a billet lower valve body that’s supposed to help with pressure bleeding issues and will tighten up shifts

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build

Sorry you had troubles, but it’s awesome that you’re out there putting the truck through it’s paces and using it as intended. If you have the wherewithal to do so, replacing the leaf springs with either carli or thuren packs will put the axle where it should be to not rub, and you’ll gain some perfo...

Re: dual battery installation suggestions?

Not sure on your generation, but on the third gen you could get the diesel battery box for the opposite side of the engine bay of your truck and bolt it in in place of the hemi air box. An intake system like the vararam solved the lack of air box issues nicely

Re: Jack upgrade

Get yourself a surplus humvee scissor jack of eBay. It’s 3 ton and lifts pretty damn high. You’ll need to do a little tinkering to make it work but it’s a great little unit all together. Cheap too. It uses a round peg to key into the lower control arms on the hummer, so you’ll need to add some kind ...

Loving the truck sir, just wanted to mention something about the adjustable track bar, at least on the third gens the thuren/carli recommendation for length did not center the front axle. It had to sit to one side at ride height so that the axles spring perch wouldn’t crash into the trackbar bracket...

Nice build you have going sir! I may have missed it, but what are you planning on using the winch for? On my truck and other vehicles I use for working I stay with wire rope because it’s more tolerant of abrasion and heavy use, on vehicles that are more off-road fun oriented I use synthetic because ...
