Re: New Tools Thread

I got quotes last week from Kaeser for screw compressor/dryer/receiver combo. Gotta think those numbers over haha. Eaton Quiet compressors are looking aweful good at those prices!! Kaeser makes great stuff! It was between them and Quincy for me, and just came down to local support and dealer prefer...

5-10 feet from it you can carry on a conversation at normal volume. It’s by far the quietest compressor I’ve ever owned.

6F8C83B5-8D78-49F3-8DA6-99940B7B8F95.jpeg There’s also the swayloc swaybar, air and manual versions available. It’s a dual rate torsion bar. I’ve had one on my rock crawler for many years, it’s the best of both worlds for go fast and articulation. You’d have to adapt it but about the same effort as...

Re: Possible camp out in central Texas?

I’d be down for that! I’ve met up with rodeoflyer out at my place near blanco before. I think that would be great to meet some more centex power wagon guys and have some fun. There’s at least 3-4 other guys in the general area. A Texas get together would be awesome

Sadly there’s not a great box out there that I’ve found. I’ve tried all of them including the Borgeson and have wound up with a big 6 bolt rebuilt and tapped for hydro by Howe Steering. That’s lasted the longest for me going on two years so far.

Re: Thuren Test Drive

A couple points to consider. your tire pressures are way high for dirt time. Lower them down and the washboard compliance will be substantially better. Kings will break in just like an engine or gears or anything else mechanical. Give them about 5k miles before you make any decisions about valving. ...

Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

You basically have to be doing something ultra stupid to get abs to engage on dry pavement in a newer ram truck. It’s not something that’s easy or safe to accomplish really. There’s so much computer manipulation going on to optimize braking performance that it’s difficult to get the truck out of its...

I think it came out looking really nice, good job! Bronze on Black is badass.

Plastidip is some pretty useful stuff. I used it on my external lowrance gps antenna on the truck. It’s held up in the Texas sun now for a couple years just fine

You can engage abs on dry pavement, but it takes some real dedication and I wouldn’t recommend it around other traffic.

Re: xfer case linkage

To the guys that have done this and have a noticeable increase in noise and/or vibration, try adjusting the linkage so there’s about 1/8-1/4” free play in it. That’s how I set mine up when I came up with the mod and it hasn’t increased nvh at all on my truck. The trucks newer than 3rd gens I can’t s...
