Re: Any Pics of Hutchinson Wheels?

I’m surprised to hear that mikekey, with all the rock crawling you do I’d have thought the double beadlock would be more appealing to you. I have trailreadys on another vehicle and they’re awesome, but you can still loose an inner bead aired down and off camber. They’re more of a go fast wheel in m...

There's nothing more disappointing than 35's on a Power Wagon. It's like finding a magic lamp and telling the genie 5". Tire chains are the only reason I'm keeping mine. You can get tire chains for 37's broski. :poke: Tire chains that don't eat fenders are the only reason I'm keeping mine. Next sum...

Barring finding an actual part number, can you get it to a Fastenal or Grainger and just measure it for a replacement?

Re: New member from Montana

I've always gone rock sliders on a truck, but I'll admit... these power steps are really nice and I don't want to lose them. I don't see myself doing too much true "wheeling" so I'm going to hold off for now. The Randy Ellis sliders are interesting, but I worry about drilling down on the rocker wit...

Re: 2012 Off road rattle

Last weekend while out hunting I noticed some rattling going on underneath, but only when the suspension was working, and traction control was engaging and disengaging. It happened at slow speeds, and only did it while off road, quiet as a mouse while on pavement. Sounded like it was coming from th...

Re: Power Wagon is Lime Green

There was a lime green PW for sale somewhere in the UT/WY area when I bought my 2015. Don't remember where I saw it, or if it was a 2014 or 2015.

Anyway, unique color for sure. I hope you enjoy the truck and welcome to the forum!

Welcome! Here you go, don’t tell the wife. Step 1: Justify rock sliders and diff protection to safeguard you against costly repairs. Just in case. They’ll pay for themselves the first time! Step 2: Start driving off-road since now that you have protection, you fear no trail. Trash the stock Duratrac...

Lots of :cash: :cash: :cash: spent on mods and "improvements". If you don't baseline and then quantify the impacts, you never know if the bang is worth the buck. That's big value of the forum - not everyone has to experiment - we can learn from others that do it right and have the data from measure...

Re: Diff Temp video

What gets me is the level drops when up to speed. The ring gear is throwing viscous oil that takes time to drain back to the bottom of the diff housing. Faster ring gear, throws more oil. I’d never really considered that, but it isn’t so crazy when you think about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapa...

Empty with rock sliders, I tip the scales at around 8000 in my Laramie w/RamBox. Heavy SOBs.

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

If you only do work in the forward direction, it reduces to a question of optimization... If backing something heavy up a winding hill in 4Lo is in the picture, I would think twice about the "weaker" gear set. I've been in 4Lo reverse with the wheels taking turns breaking loose - stock gears - hopi...

New owner from the PNW

Welcome, what part of the NW? I'm in the Everett WA area. Hoping to do some snow runs in the local area this winter to get the truck under my feet a little. I'm used to jeeps, wanting to see how a full size throws its weight around. In the snow, not as well as a Jeep. The big rear diff hangs low an...

On my 2015, the cruise on/off button stopped working after a day of wheeling. Oh crap, what did I break? My passenger googled it, there is a known problem with the button. He said flick it. I flicked it. Cruise worked again. No shit, there I was. . .

Maybe just some guidance to keep discussion on topic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk NO, end of debate. ...

Re: adeluca73's Build - 2014 2014 POWER WAGON SLT FLAME RED TWO TONE

Highly recommend a helper to run the floor jack and hand you tools. I did everything but the rear track bar solo in a single day and I was smoked. With one or two assistants it should be an easy Saturday project or two very easy days if you split it up front/rear.

You may find this shocking, but Ram routinely has mistakes on their website, including the build&price tool.

Re: WTB: 2017-2018 PW wheel hub caps

Have you tried the dealer? If the center cap is common across their black wheels (thinking of the blacked out Cummins models, which seem to be pretty popular) they might actually be pretty cheap. I needed to replace a corner bed cap for my RamBox and expected to get raked over the coals for it. Deal...

I love the truck overall but the transmission will not hold the truck at a slow pace on switchbacks without a heavy dose of braking. Wondering if anyone has geared down or if there might be another alternative. Low gear lets the truck accelerate to 25mph before kicking down to approximately 18mph b...
