Re: Recovery kits

Send it back. Nobody makes a kit stout enough for an 8000+ lbs truck, especially not for $180.

Re: Thuren Overland Suspension Compared to Stock Suspension

Great demo video for somebody considering a Thuren suspension. Thanks for sharing, Mike. I’d have liked to see him spend some time on the rear track bar. It’s a big upgrade, especially for his overlanding audience that likes to put weight up high. He also mentioned that rear Boogies aren’t compatibl...

Re: Sliders

I guess I'd be fine with either, but will go with WK. the biggest obstacle now is convincing the wife that I need a $1000 mod on my truck. Some mods are easy to hide, but not this one haha. Show her how much damage to the rocker panels and doors costs to repair. They pay for themselves the first ti...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

On the Amazon internet stuff buying store, there is a ~50 lbs weight difference between a Zeon 12-S and an M12000.

They made the front end lighter. They didn’t do a darn thing to the suspension.

Re: Sliders

Aluminess sliders are steel. The problem with them is that they mount to the body just like step bars. Maybe OK for incidental bump protection, but not OK for hard hits and intentional use. The body mount can be strong enough. There is the hardcore Jeep trick where you cut away the rocker panels an...

Re: Sliders

The Aluminess is aluminum, so it's soft metal. You'll put so nice grooves in them if you slide across enough rocks. I have their bumper. And I got some nice marks on the bottom of it. Aluminess sliders are steel. The problem with them is that they mount to the body just like step bars. Maybe OK for...

Re: Power Wagons in Moab 2019 - Monday, April 29th – Friday, May 3rd

Haha, I was wondering the same thing when I saw that. I think there’s a fairly general consensus that AEV wheels and snorkel are okay, isn’t there? They don’t need to know we all think their lift is dog poo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think there wheels are the wrong offset. Sent from my ...

https://powerwagonsinmoab.com/ I was going to write this big post about how we have AEV as a partner and someone will win a set of their wheels, and how offroadpower products (same diesel power products guys) is now a partner too with another big give away and bla bla bla. Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

Why is there an UNLOCK button now? That seams to signal a change to the locker engagement system. How are people interpreting a change from a three position knob (axle unlock, rear lock, fr/rear lock) to a three button panel (axle *unlock symbol*, rear, front & rear) as a change to how the lockers ...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

Unlock is a separate button, as apposed to turning the dial back. It may not be different but there is a chance. Let me get them to ask Ram. Suspension was raised 7MM in front per Ram and goes from 521 to 538 RTI. Just a guess, but they may be just fitting the buttons into the form factor of a swit...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

This design refresh appeals to me most as a future used truck buy. If/when the 2015 is too clapped out, there should be plenty of these used (whatever-gen, 4.75?) trucks on the market, most of them being babied street queens. The underpinnings being largely the same, all the armor and suspension upg...

Re: PW Axle n Suspension Swap Question (& Locker Wiring)

(Waking A Dead Thread) Now that My PW Swap is done, thankfully didn't have any real issues. What color wires do I tap to "HotWire" both of my lockers? Do I need a special switch for the lockers? Is there a way to "HotWire" the sway bar also, because I'm also gonna gank that also. Making a Mega Powe...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

That’s a change I really liked. It was the same change the Rubicons made. Much better design to shut the lockers down. Of course I have yet to use them in the PW. Lol How are three buttons any different than a non-sequential three position knob? Ya know I guess there really isn’t a big change. I ju...

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

I wonder what it's going to take to crack the code on the new locker control system? :geek: d35ea6b93dc3d4e26935605a67648a35.jpg Maybe it works perfect and won't even need a bypass. So, to unlock the front only, do you push the rear lock button or the unlock button once? hmmm You’d push the ...

Year-round shock oil for cold weather

Trading emails with Don this week as I look at going 2.5s, he said no to need to re-valve, so not sure where that leaves the discussion given seemingly conflicting answers. Well if that’s not confusing, I don’t know what is. Alls I knows is that I hit about 35 mph on a gravel bar going over driftwo...

I have not, but check out Toyo Open Country C/Ts too. Serious truck tire, mountain snowflake, most folks have never heard of them, they're skookum.
