Re: The Cactus Red mod thread.

Wow... I stopped in to look at the warranty info - they have over $3600.00 in parts alone to rebuild a diff. That's nuts. $990.00 for gears, a new Track Rite E-Locker and Limited Slip $2200.00, all new bearing from the flanges in, and gasket sets. So in essence, it will be a new rear diff from flan...

Re: DIY not-a-Power Tank

Pretty much zero danger from this thing blowing the safety valve. I don't store it in a hot trunk, and it doesn't get hot enough here anyway.

Re: DIY not-a-Power Tank

I've been living with this thing for about a month and I'm really happy with it so far. I got a China-made tank handle and adjustable hi-flow regulator off ebay. The hi-flow reg is faster than my first fixed pressure reg, but not by much (I think the main restriction is the valve stem/core at the wh...

I'd still put it on the fronts with Cerakote. Cheap insurance and they're easy to wrap, having remote reservoirs.

Re: 2011 PW Tailgate pops open while driving??

I haven't had this issue with my Ram, but the Chevy I drove previously did this. I figured out that the latches weren't engaging the pins, and I sprayed everything I could think of on them. Nothing worked 'til I figured out that it was the handle mechanism that was binding up. Took apart the tailgat...

Did you have the shock bodies clear wrapped? If not, it’s probably a good idea with the salt air you have down there.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread

On Saturday I linked up with wilsonsinak for a wheeling trip with him and some (most?) of his co-workers. We were in the Wagons, everyone else was on a SxS or four wheeler. It was a 25 mile haul out to the Knik glacier, with just enough mud and winching to make things interesting on the trail. Did a...

Everyone had an unexpected meeting except the lowest guy on the totem pole. There's really nothing left to talk about anyway. I'm going to file a complaint with FCA this week. There's no shame in telling me there's nothing that can be done. Lying about the work done is where we have a problem. They...

Toyo Open Country C/T

I have over 10k miles on my 35x12.50r17 Toyo Open Country C/T's on a variety of terrain. It's time I give some feedback on them (as far as I know I'm the only person here using them). The C/T is a studdable, 3-peak rated tire with an aggressive all terrain tread (comparable to the Duratrac tread pat...

I opted for half-spiders front and rear. That Carli cover looks like it would hold onto mud, and that’s a big part of life up here.

I'm pretty sour on Ram dealers doing customer pay work. I'd buy $1250 worth of tools first.

My Purple Cranium half spiders showed up last night. For anybody wanting to add these; front diff bolts are 10mm hex, rear diff bolts are 13mm hex (you’ll need a wrench or a 3/8” ratchet and short socket to reach under the rear sway bar), and the Purple Cranium stainless bolts are a 6mm hex socket. ...
