Converting overall costs for capability
Hello all, I have been off the boards for a while because I ended up selling my latest PW for a Ram SRT-10. I miss going offroad though so going to come back to the arena very soon. However, I got a taste of a Turbo Cummins that my dad bought and fell in love with the diesel, both the power/torque a...

Re: Thinking about buying but for some questions
Totally understandable, I was in the same exact boat as you a matter of two or so years ago when I was looking my current one. You have two basic types of dealerships when it comes to powerwagons, the ones that know what a Powerwagon is and how rare they are, and the ones who have no clue. If buying...

Re: Thinking about buying but for some questions
Yes, like MikeKey said, buy mine. I'd even consider bringing it to you for the right price. I'm in Oklahoma. Since I know what I'm looking to replace it with, maybe the truck I want is there in NY and while I bring you mine, I'll buy what I want and drive it back. Two birds one stone.

Re: Thinking about buying but for some questions
Everybody has already said it, and I agree, no regrets. I've owned two so far at the age of 35, and I know I'll own more as life goes on. However, I don't know where you live, but mine is for sale in the classifieds here. I've determined I go through stages between going slow rockcrawling and going ...

Re: Driveshaft/Exhaust Damage
I would say the driveshaft would be ok, as there are no dents from what I can see, only scratches. I have some gouges on my driveshaft from where it contacted the skid plate when I was fine-tuning my lift, and I took it to my local driveshaft shop and they said it is fine even with that. As for pini...

Re: 2005 Dodge Ram Powerwagon SLT Quad Cab - LOW miles
Lowered the price even more. Someone who loves Powerwagon's and knows about them, please come take this wonderful truck off my hands. It has new u-joints installed front and rear of the rear driveshaft, and these new ones are greasable, unlike the stock joints. If you aren't interested in the truck,...

Re: New pw comparison
I'm a fan of TFL Truck and subscribed to them on YouTube, but yeah sometimes their reviews or comparisons are too much opinion talk and not enough science talk and videos, this being the case with this one. Honestly, the Powerwagon cannot be compared to another truck, because there just isn't anothe...

Re: 2007 rough idle at startup?
I'm going to follow your post if you don't mind. Weird that my 2005 just showed this symptom the other day, and is just sluggish it seems after a first start and drive of the morning, happened more so on cooler mornings. I was leaning towards transmission but it didn't quite feel like that, more rem...

Re: WTF Happened to this truck?
Yeah, no clue on that sucker, but I'm with the others, I'd walk away. With a price like that, it's bound to have lots of untold issues. Kindof like the good ole phrase, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". But, I'm not sure about the bugs with 05's. My 2005 has zero bugs or any mechan...

Re: Squeaky Driveshaft, puzzled mind.
Thanks a lot TwinStick, now I'm worried out of my mind driving to and from work everyday. Riding my motorcycle on days I can. But yeah, I've seen a couple of videos and some post-breakage pictures of snapped driveshafts and it is not pretty by any means. Now, my driveshafts came in yesterday, but I ...

Lowered the price yall, somebody come and take care of my baby for me. If possible, I would like to visit her from time to time, or at least be able to keep up with her progress. You know, like a surrogate baby you want to get regular updates on each year. No offense meant, my wife carried a surroga...

Re: Squeaky Driveshaft, puzzled mind.
Thank you all. I have two u-joints ordered and coming this week. I'm taking it easy on the skinny pedal this week (hard for me to do) to avoid breaking one before I can get it done. Additionally, the weather has finally got to a comfortable place so I'll be riding my bike more to work each day.

Re: Squeaky Driveshaft, puzzled mind.
Hey yall, adding to this thread because I think it's related. Would the above said bad u-joints also make a crackling sound under heavier acceleration, or when towing a trailer? This wasn't present when I started this thread, but now there are new noises coming under acceleration, and the best word ...

Re: dealership does horrible work
Not at all surprised about the stealerships lack of knowledge or care for our precious trucks. I avoid them by all costs, but when it comes to alignments, I'm still trying to find a place local that can actually align my truck properly. I've been using Firestone Auto Care because I have unlimited al...

Re: Exhaust mods?
I don't have the newer models with the MDA so can't speak on the exhaust layout of those, plus all the newer electronics and sensors involved, but on my 05 I have true dual's from headers, then meeting underneath back seat using a collector, to a large Magnaflow muffler emptying before the rear axle...

Re: Squeaky Driveshaft, puzzled mind.
Ok, thanks yall. So, stupid question now, as I completely forgot to look closely while under there, can we replace just the u-joints, or does it have to be whole driveshaft? I know if I'm replacing driveshaft I'm going to a Tom Woods to get rid of this aluminum one, plus they are skinnier, but still...

Squeaky Driveshaft, puzzled mind.
Hello all. So I have developed a very annoying and embarrassing squeak coming from under my vehicle. Initially I suspected something rubbing at the rotors or perhaps front u-joints after my recent mudding experience. This morning I was able to jack up each wheel to troubleshoot, and it wasn't anythi...

Well, found the squeak. It's in the rear driveshaft. I made a video so I'll put it in another thread and explain my findings. But hey, in regards to this topic, I did find the double cardon grease nipple so shot some grease in there.

Thanks nts. I was hoping it was gonna be an easy grease to make the noise go away, but may not be. I'll know soon enough where the squeak is.
