Re: Locker bypass kit

$200.00 for a harness? I'd like to see a photo of the harness not installed, in order to see what the entire assembly consists of before buying.

Re: Labor Day Weekend - Moab Mini Meet

I'll be in Moab that weekend for the Red Rock Four Wheelers Labor Day Safari. Won't have the PW though, I keep my TJ in Moab these days since I frequent the area. If anyone wants to meet for a beverage after running trails, PM me. I'll be with the club on Saturday through Monday, but arrive i...

Re: Oil change - is this normal?

One thing I have seen happen is the oil filter is not tightened enough so on start up the oil shoots out of the seal. On the 5.7 filter change - I put a funnel with a long tube up to the bottom of the guide that is under the filter and un screw the filter. I can change without a single drop spilt u...

Re: Black bears & my best friend

Update on BB, yesterday was a long day for me because I had to leave him and go to work. When I got home, he was so happy I was home and was running around like nothing ever happened. I was laughing and trying to calm him down, so he would pull a stitch, but the more I laughed, the more he'd go cra...

Re: Black bears & my best friend

Wow! Good job getting BB out of there, I'm glad to hear you're both ok. I'm out every morning with my dog at 03:30 for a walk before I leave for work (100 mile commute). Bears are a concern in my area as well. Our nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away and they haven't learned to keep their trash in the ...

Re: Chrysler Extended warranty

You should have taken it to a different dealer or escalated with RAM. They can't deny a warranty taking a off-road truck off-road unless gross negligence could be proved. Different dealers do yield different results, for sure. I had a warranty problem with a TJ years ago (factory warranty) one deal...

Re: Chrysler Extended warranty

It's worth every penny to me. Of course I got mine at a large savings when we dickered on the truck - in essence it was a throw in on the deal. No problems with coverage at two different dealers here, even with the mods done to the truck. Biggest thing is how long you plan on keeping the truck. I p...

I used to deal with Dan Justice, he was always fair. He's since retired though. My Rubicon came from the former McGregor Motors and the PW came from McCall Motors. I got better deals from those two places.

Re: Educate me on smokers please

I have the propane gas model. My only regret is that I didn't get the electric one. Gas is a giant pain to regulate the temperature with. A friend of mine has the electric model like the one you're looking at and he has a much simpler time with it. Overall though, I love the foods I've smoked in my ...

Re: Orders to DC--PW future?

I think you should store the truck and enjoy it when you can. I did the same thing with a Jeep for several years, only running it a few times per year for several years. There were zero issues with seals or gaskets leaking or anything. When I did get it out, it was to wheel it so I'm pretty sure I r...

Re: Oil change DIY 1st time advice

I change mine all the time. I stick a piece of cardboard, specifically a waxed beer carton behind the lip behind the oil filter all the way to the catch pan. This makes the oil go to the catch pan and not all over the front axle when you loosen the filter. I don't use a wrench on the filter, hand t...

I saw a white 4th gen pull in to some condos south of Moab today, pulling a trailer. Anyone on here? I'm in town through Monday.
