Re: Weight Distribution Hitch Offroad

Yea, articulation is certainly very hard on wd hitches thats for sure. I have the Equal-i-zer setup, and while I do like the setup a lot, it can be very noisy and annoying when turning. I sometimes take it off in campgrounds or around my house just so I dont have to have it creaking and cracking. Ma...

Re: air bags

Well if you want long travel bags, maybe Carli’s setup for the earlier gens could be adapted? Might be quite a bit of work, though, since they were intended for leaf sprung trucks.

I also have had no issues with the bag/cradle setup.

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

Yea I took the spacer out per Tankerzak’s recommendation and everything still works great. And I gained back the inch of compression, which was a noticeable loss. Abnormal wear? Pffffff, guess I would have to look them over because I never really have. I will say, the trip up to the UP and back last...

Re: Weight Distribution Hitch Offroad

Running a WD hitch on rough roads is a fast way to rip the WD brackets off or snap a load bar! You’re putting a ton of force into that system whenever the truck and trailer are shoved into being not level to the same plane. Exactly. Think about what happens if your truck starts going up a steep inc...

Re: Max tire size for chains

I don't really mind the duratracs. I had them on my 05 before I got the 18 and really liked them. The soft sidewall makes me nervous though. And reading everyone's posts about how bad they are haha. Do 35's dog the truck at all? Thinking 34's might be better when I do upgrade. Maybe try the 315/70/...

Re: Kill-switch for electronic nannies

There is now a more $$$ option available from Z-Automotive. https://zautomotive.com/product/tazer-ram/ It has some interesting features but I'm not crazy about having to leave it plug in to the OBD port to get them to work. I am amazed at what this little box can do. How the hell is that even possi...

Re: Tire Pressures

I have a 2012 PW with 37x12.5x17 General Grabber X3s. I run 28 in the front and 23 in the rear. That's chalk tested and has perfect wear after over 15,000 miles. I know some will say that very low, but after almost 2 years at those setting the truck runs great on them. The truck is not overly squis...

All 4.5 gen power wagons have 4.10's. Its not an issue with stock size tires. But yea, 4.56's would certainly be a warm welcome back!

You have a pw? Worst case, just unbolt the lower bolt for one front shock and one back shock, and get the collapsed and extended measurements.

1981 doesn't seem that old, but I guess if it has a carburetor, it qualifies as a classic.

Just a late note on this thread. But I experienced wheel sensor communication problems due to a Procal issue. You can always get it in 4x4 in an emergency by shutting off the engine, placing it in 4x4 and re-starting. How ever 4 Low is out with no speed sensors. Thats good to know. Seems weird it w...

Yes, I agree. Very neat to watch. I am really intrigued to see the results of the next episode, with actual diff temps for each scenario.
