For guys in the greater Seattle area that need a solid dealer, I have a contact for a good one now.
I am happy for you that you are now working with a capable dealer. Congrats on that, anyway!

Re: A Tale of Diagnostic Woe

The diagnosis is bad lifters and a bunch of broken clips, loose bolts, and missing bolts. There doesn't appear to be collateral damage to the cam. The "new" lifters installed by the last dealer have a lot of wear for only having 1k miles on them. The rockers look like they were put on with an impac...

At the very beginning of all of this, what did the noise start off sounding like? Like a lifter tick? An exhaust leak?

You got me all fawking paranoid now.

Re: Coming out of gear?

My '06 Dodge 2500 always did this. After it sat a few hours or more, as soon as I started it up I would have to wait 10-15 seconds before I put it in gear, otherwise it would just sit there like it was in neutral and then eventually slowly slide into gear. All the reading up I did on it lead me to t...

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

5.13 or 5.38 probably. Good luck. That’s small, the pinion will be very small, you’ll have to nail the pinion angle pretty spot on. With 5.38’s, 37’s, and gear in the bed, you’d have an issue trying to reverse in 4L if you ever got stuck. But they’re gonna be awesome crawling gears, but will kill y...

Alignments are treated differently... The assumption is that you could hit a mega pothole or "something" hard enough to mess up the alignment. They ASSume that the alignment was correct from the factory. :secret: Its not just an alignment issue necessarily... especially if it is just one tire. I wo...

Man I really dig the overall look of that bumper. I dont really care for the aesthetics of the large rectangle opening for the winch cable, but I understand why it is there. Kudos!!!!!!

Reloader, has the dealer brought up anything about you doing the oil changes and not them, and using something other than the mopar oil? This is one of the most persistent, never really thought out "I don't want to void my warranty claims" people cite on the internet about not changing their oil th...

Hit up Chris Sisseck over on offroad power wagon. As much as you disdain FB, he's been through his 2016 twice now. First with Nitro gears, then Yukon's. He literally did a full swap on the ground next to my trailer in Moab. Chris will know. Used to be a service tech. Helped us all get part numbers ...

Thanks fellas.

What would I use to sand them down with, just some fine grit sandpaper?

David, the fluid film comment made me lol, although it could certainly be the culprit!

Brakes squealing

Anyone have issues with their brakes squealing during light to moderate braking? They dont squeal at all with no braking or hard braking. Under 20k miles and the pads and rotors look like brand new. Seems to only happen once they warm up a bit. Im at a loss, and it is getting extremely annoying.

Depends on how much hassle you want it it gets screwed up. Lets say I pay someone to do it and it gets screwed up, how much hassle will it be getting them to fix it right? Depends on the shop's honesty wouldn't it? "You didn't follow the break-in procedure" Lot's of horror stories out there. But I'...

Will do. The warranty saved me money on the valvetrain issues but the hassle is only worth it if something expensive needs replaced/fixed as was the case for me. Agreed. I have gone back and forth with myself trying to determine if I should keep the lifetime warranty or not. Between worrying about ...

The egr is not covered by warranty at 3 plus years and 55k. I’m going to order it and replace myself in the next few weeks I suppose. Please keep us posted on how the replacement goes. Even with the lifetime warranty and under 20k miles on mine, I think I would still rather do it myself than have t...

The coolant resevoir?!???! Really? Yes, it has all kinds of shit in it after they replaced the cam and lifters. Looks like oil and coolant mixed together which is why dealer is replacing it since they caused it doing the work. They will flush the system as well. Well I understand that... but do the...

Yes, I have noticed that after a tire rotation it takes a bit for the computer to switch/change sensors.
