Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

Funny—all this talk of gearing and tires, at one point 4.88’s & 37’s were like the holy grail step-up for the Best-Gen trucks, put us on par or above with the ‘13 and older crowd who mostly gravitate to 35’s and keep their 4.56’s. Now the move is to 39/40” tires and 5.13’s—and I’ve been secretly di...

Take a look at my build thread, I edited all of the mods into the first post. There doesn't appear to be a limit to the number of images in one post.
Nice work on the re-org, like it. Not sure I have the time commitment or patience to do that myself...

Yep. My cruise control intermittently won't turn on when I push the button. Several miles down the road I'll give the button another try and sure enough it is back and ready to cruise. :-/ Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk Glad I wasn’t the only one with the problem...it was maddening on ...

Re: 37" tires with 4.10 for those who do have

If you only do work in the forward direction, it reduces to a question of optimization... If backing something heavy up a winding hill in 4Lo is in the picture, I would think twice about the "weaker" gear set. I've been in 4Lo reverse with the wheels taking turns breaking loose - stock gears - hopi...

Re: 2.5s versus 3" Kings

I have 2.5's and don't feel like I need more shock. Would I have bought 3.0s if they had been available at the time? Maybe for the right price but Don had to talk me into the 2.5s to start with. The truck rides great and the bigger the tires the better it gets. Not everyone needs race shocks and th...

Re: Sleeping Platform Build

This is my take on a sleeping platform for a truck bed. I bought my 2006 Power Wagon in May of 2017, and for the summer ran with a full length platform with an queen sized air mat on top. It worked but based on that configuration I came up with some things I would change. EAA414D3-EBB1-4E69-9509-3F...

have read a lot of pushback when it comes to modding these power wagons There is no resistance to modding PWs. Any resistance you may have sensed is to dumb mods. There is a difference. I got my shifter recall and the cruise recall done this morning. I absolutely hate my dealer up here, but they are the only ones around. I heard about transmission hard shifting issues after the cruise recall, but mine seems to be working ok for now. It took about 30 minutes for both. Be safe. I ha...

That's nice! I think you're going to really appreciate the Kings. Agree...they are so much bigger in person, you can appreciate the heft and helps to connect the very high cost vs. standard OEM crap--there's a world of difference in true hand-engineered components, dialed in for you and your purpos...

Re: Why the lack of subforums?

To me, if you have to give the model year of your truck with your question to get an answer that's worth anything, that subject needs to get rolled up into a generation-specific subforum. I would rather go to one subforum and see a variety of topics all specific to my generation Power Wagon than go...

Re: Why the lack of subforums?

I feel like towing & hauling is clearly different from discussions on camp setups and what not. Especially those of us with overland setups, and discussions on tents, vs discussions on payload. 5.13 or 5.38 probably. Good luck. That’s small, the pinion will be very small, you’ll have to nail the pinion angle pretty spot on. With 5.38’s, 37’s, and gear in the bed, you’d have an issue trying to reverse in 4L if you ever got stuck. But they’re gonna be awesome crawling gears, but will kill y...
