Re: 2013 Power Wagon purchase info
Well paper work is all done. Still waiting on a transporter to be scheduled to pick up the truck. The waiting is killing me. I think the wife is even excited about this truck purchase. She's showed me a few nice bumpers and we're talking about future mods. Rock rails are first on the list. Rockers ...

Those of you who would like a thermostatic bypass after market kit this is one of the better ones I have seen out there. http://www.etrailer.com/p-D15450.html Here is one from Rock auto. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=3843831&cc=1444153&jnid=500&jpid=1 Not too sure I like the facto...

Re: Engine oil temps while towing.
The DiabloSport Trinity tuner allows you to view all the different temps that are tied to the computer in real time. I've got spark and spark advance , oil/tranny temps plus throttle % on my main screen just to keep and eye on everything while traveling and pulling a trailer. It's pretty convenient...

Re: Engine oil temps while towing.
I like the idea of running an engine oil cooler to keep the temp down while towing. In the future, I'd like to do a big trip down south and the extra cooling is a benefit as I would like to visit Arizona and New Mexico. Big climbs and hot temps. I think I'll talk to my mechanic at work and see what ...

Re: Doing my front and rear diff but have a fluid question
I started a bit of research and found this test on synthetic engine oils. There are no shell products in the list.http://wpc.1c96.edgecastcdn.net/001C96/G-Items/Performance%20Testing%20Archives/g3115-2013-current/index.html Again, the amsoil is a very well balanced product providing exceptional prot...

Engine oil temps while towing.
Last summer while I was towing my 9500 lb loaded toy hauler for the first time, I switched over to see how my engine oil temp was doing and I panicked when I saw the results. It was around 115 degrees Celsius or just past the 75 % mark on the gauge travelling at about 65-70 mph on flat ground. Now a...

Re: Doing my front and rear diff but have a fluid question
We don't need any special additives either for the rear. I only am running amsoil severe gear 75-90. Here's why. You may not want royal purple. Long read. But worth it http://www.lastgreatroadtrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/gear-oil-comparison.pdf Thanks nts007! A dry read but very valuable inf...

Re: Alberta get together #7?
Work has been kinda on and off so far this summer. There is a good chance I'll be able to make it. If I can , I surely will. I have the option of working in Thompson MB or in Happy Valley, Labrador. So far I've resisted both . I think jail would be better. Being that I'm just doing in town work I ca...

Re: Has anyone found a solution to lower door hinges?
There is a products called Tef Lube 2000. It is a spray and it works fantastic. WD40 is more of a penetrating oil and cleaner. This Tef Lube sticks to the surface. I use it on the crane boom and the overspray that gets on my glasses is extremely difficult to remove. Takes about three washes with soa...

I don't get where your going with this. I would just keep hammering on the dealer to fix it. It's under warranty right ? I would be stirring up so much shit with them, I'd have a loner cus It's unsafe to drive. They are throwing parts at it, let them keep doing that until they stumble on the proble...

Hey Neil! You said they charged 60$ duty. At 6% duty, that means they used 1000$ of parts from abroad( Germany I assume). That seems excessive. What did they change out other than the seals? Duties are only applicable on goods shipped across the border that are made in countries other than the USA o...

Re: 2013 Harsh 4th gear downshift
Maybe try disconnecting the battery for an 1 hr and let the computer reprogram a new shifting pattern. Computers just need rebooting sometimes. That's my only suggestion. It'll take a few 100 Kms to develop a new shift pattern based on your driving style

I've read that in general, the internals are quite robust. The weak link is the piston rings. If your gonna change them out, you may as well get better Pistons as well.

Re: Tell me about your air bags!
I have the Carli long travel air bags and very much like them. Yes they are pricey but you get a very well made product. The bags are specially made for Carli by Firestone. The air volume of the bags are much higher than your standard air bags so you end up having a much nicer ride. The brackets are...

Hey Gravels! Have a fun trip. Meet next time I hope. Looks like the weather will be good for Sunday. If we need jack stands to dry fit the sliders, perhaps someone can bring a set. I don't have a floor jack either. I guess it's time I get some.

With your dollar being at 1 U.S. Dollar= 0.82 Canadian dollar, you might want to consider a purchase in Alberta. A quick search on kijiji Alberta shows at least 10 power wagons for sale in Alberta. For those that can make it by, lets shoot for 1-5 pm on Sunday after noon. I live in Sherwood Park, 1048 Parker Drive. It is on the extreme western edge of Sherwood Park, smack in the middle between Baseline and Wye roads. You'll see the red power wagon in the driveway. Bring whatever you want to dr...

Diesels are untouchable when it comes to hard work. High compression allows for fantastic engine braking. Engine longevity with hard use is phenomenal( especially the cummins).Fuel economy under heavy load doesn't change drastically like a gas motor. When I tow heavy with the Hemi, the fuel economy ...

Wow what a difference! If your gonna attach the name all terrain", the least they could do is put some bigger tires on the thing. I like the Gmc trucks as far as ride, looks, interior and such but it isn't much of a truck. I love my power wagon more and more every day.

That's good! Here is a list of things that you can't legally do: 1. Exceed the trucks GVRW ( gross vehicle rated weight). 2. Exceed either of the trucks axles GAWR ( gross axle weight rating) 3. Exceed to towing capacity of a tow vehicles rating( based on many different factors) 4. Exceed the traile...

Hey nts007 ( Neil)! This isn't arguing. I'd prefer to call it a discussion. The cool thing about this forum is that we can all learn from others experience and knowledge. The other day I learned new info about shocks relating to tire wear thanks to you. I certainly don't know everything and at 48 ye...
