Maybe try disconnecting the battery for an 1 hr and let the computer reprogram a new shifting pattern. Computers just need rebooting sometimes. That's my only suggestion. It'll take a few 100 Kms to develop a new shift pattern based on your driving style

I've read that in general, the internals are quite robust. The weak link is the piston rings. If your gonna change them out, you may as well get better Pistons as well.
