Re: Aftermarket ball joints?
I have Dynatrac ball joints on my truck. I got 10 years and them for 150k miles out of them before I rebuild them last summer. The lowers where a little loose the uppers were still tight. I put a fair amount of hard off road driving on them and them and they held up very well, I highly recommend them.

Re: 3rd Gen Winch Causing Parasitic Drain on Battery
I ended up taking my truck to another shop that specializes in auto electronics, I left it overnight, they ran a test for a parasitic drain and everything was within spec. I have been working from home and not driving much since COVID started, lots of very short trips and I think I just killed my ba...

Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly Transfer Case is a $295 option, the manual floor shifter is still the standard base option. Shift-On-The-Fly is included with the 75th Anniversary Edition Package.

Congrats on the order! The 75th anniversary comes with the factory rock-sliders which haven't been available since the 3rd Gen model trucks which is a nice bonus.

Re: AAM ball joints.
I have Dynatrac ball joints in my truck. After about 140k miles I rebuilt them, tops were still tight bottoms were loose. For about $195 you can get the rebuild kit for all four ball joints and do the work without having to remove them from the axle, very pleased with this product.

Hello Allgonoshow,
I think you might be right about the cam and the lifters being badly worn or damaged unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to remove them and take a look.

Re: 2006 Front Driveshaft Rebuild
So I got the driveshaft out and pressed out all the joints. Found the bad u-joint that had two ends completely dry 😳. Glad it didn't come apart on me. George at 8lug still the place for spicer joints? Anyone have the part numbers? And any insight on what gets rebuilt on the double cardan? Thanks Go...

Re: 2006 Power Wagon ball joint bore
Those large gash marks look strange, perhaps something was wedged in there to get the ball joints out. The small vertical lines indicate knurled ball joints were previously used so you will need to use them again, smooth sided ball joints won't hold. The install should be fine, if the ball joints ar...

Re: New Tires Yokohama X-AT 35's
How have you guys been liking the X-AT's? They look like a great solution to an all around tire for these trucks and I like the look. I was wondering how they were performing and if you had done any significant winter driving in them yet. They look like they would do pretty well in snow and ice eve...

Re: Noticed my 2019 universal joints dont have clips 2019?
My 07 had the same thing with at least some u-joints, it simplifies manufacturing and saves money for parts suppliers. It does not affect longevity but as mentioned rebuilding them is a pain.

Re: Lost all gears while driving, transfer case?
Go the truck back on Saturday. Once they got it apart they found that the seal around the pump was leaking, it had been that way for 2-3 years because it made a very slight whining sound, it finally came out and lost all pressure. At 185k miles with nothing ever done to the transmission since 2007 w...

Just got the diagnosis the transfer case is fine the transmission pump failed time to get the transmission rebuilt. I have my truck in a reputable shop nearby it should be done late next week.

Lost all gears while driving, transfer case?
While I was driving down the freeway this morning the engine revved up it went into a free spinning state like neutral and I couldn't shift into any gear. I had to coast to the side of the road and call a tow truck. I can shift through the gears in both the transmission and transfer case but but not...

Looks good it should have come that way from the factory, do those compatibility brackets unbolt and come right off it's hard to tell from the picture?
