Re: The Cactus Red mod thread.

Got the truck back yesterday. Spent 15 minutes with the service manager. The tech reinstall the bolt without loctite... He claims it's not needed. I asked that they order a new set of bolts. If they they have loctite on them from the factory, they will swap them out. I'll know on Monday if its goin...

Found this on youtube is it the same thing you are experiencing, could be a bad/grooved cam messing up the lifters.

Re: Do all 09's have VVT

Where’d you find the 09 with different power numbers than 10 and on? As far as I know the 09 and on 1500 and 2500 share the same 383 horsepower motor. Even the drive belt system is the same between them, in my work experience they’re identical I got this information by searching Google for "2009 ra...

Re: Do all 09's have VVT

Here are the specs for the Power Wagon 5.7 Hemi. Ram 1500 Hemi's may have different hp/torque ratings for some years.

2005-2008 Power Wagon 5.7 - (345 hp and 375 lb.-ft.)
2009 Power Wagon 5.7 VVT - (355 hp and 395 lb.-ft.)
2010-2013 5.7 VVT - (383 hp and 400 lb.-ft.)

Re: More Road-Feel After Driveshaft Rebuild?

The drives check out, are balanced and in good order so, I starting to think the road feel/vibration I'm feeling might be from my tires I have Toyo AT2's with almost 40k miles on them, they will make it to the promised 50k but will be pretty much down to the wear indicators by then. The wear pattern...

Re: More Road-Feel After Driveshaft Rebuild?

The drivestrain shop is going to rebalance everything tomorrow and let me know if they find any problems. Worst case I can get a replacement OEM rear w/yokes for $529.35 out the door and install in myself it's only 4 bolts. PN # 52123148AC https://www.ranchomoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-drive-shaft...

Re: More Road-Feel After Driveshaft Rebuild?

If a shop would reuse a deformed yoke, then I would be suspect of anything they touched period. That’s just asking for trouble. That being said, if I leave my hubs locked and get on the highway I can absolutely feel a noticeable difference in the front end of the truck. My front driveshaft is prett...

More Road-Feel After Driveshaft Rebuild?

I recently had both front and rear driveshafts rebuild by a reputable shop in my area. The front drive shaft did have a far amount of play in it I could feel it when off road in 4WD. The rear drive shaft had a frozen u-joint at the transmission, but I never noticed anything. My question is now that ...

Re: '08 Winch Questions

If the winch only spools out but not back in it's most like a failed thermal protection switch. You can bypass it for a few bucks here's a link to the instructions on the DodgeTalk.com Power Wagon forum. You'll need to create a login to see the pictures. I did it to my truck years ago as a preventa...

Re: Rear Shock Question

So... I appreciate the feedback but I'm hearing factory shocks are junk and I need a good set of $500+ shocks... I like it, not sure the wife will! ;) I would not say Bilstein's are junk, I think that's' overstating the case. Toyota, GM, Jeep, Dodge, RAM all have their performance shocks made by Bi...

What Bilstein's do we have - 4600 or 5100? Does anyone have the part number for the rear? Trying to figure out what to order, as it doesn't appear entirely clear for our trucks... 2015 MY, wasn't sure if they changed them at the 14+ update... Or if anyone has any stock takeoffs laying around? :D Fo...

So, the guys at Discount have replaced them with a set of Toyo AT2's 285/70-17's. I'll get a photo up when they arrive.
Back to stock size no 35's?

Re: Rear locker working again......replaced!!

Can't remember if the magnets move closer together or farther apart when locker is engaged. It's been a hundred years since I had my cover off last. The sensor moves away from the target magnet when the locker is engaged, so if it's right on the edge of the magnetic field to start with and then thi...

I'll give Randy's a shout I wish there was a capable shop I put a request in at the dealership to see how much they would charge to rebuild it if I supplied all the parts Doesn't hurt to ask the dealer but they usually only do a swap with an already rebuilt factory unit and send yours back as a cor...

Re: Quick question on tire pressures

If you have stock tires I would run at factory recommended pressure while towing what does it say on your door sticker?

If you don't like anything OEM you can call the tire manufacture and they can provide the load carrying capacity and corresponding tire pressure range for your tires.

A word of caution, NEVER use anything metal(shackle, hook, etc.) to connect winch line/rope together.
What are you supposed to use then? If you use a damper or two not sure why this is a problem please advise.

Says the winch is rusted and cable won’t come out...wonder if a good dousing in PB Blaster would free the winch cable? Current bid $5K...tempting If the winch goes in but not out it's most likely the thermal disconnect switch is not working it can be easily bypassed. It's a common problem on early ...

Re: Air actuated lockers on the PW?

I have the locker bypass on my 3 Gen and it works about the same as before 5-10 seconds per axle though it randomly takes a little longer. The 3 Gen locker bypass simply tricks the computer into reading the transfer case position sensor is in 4Low that's all. I'm not sure if the 4 Gen bypass in more...

Re: Air actuated lockers on the PW?

Locker bypass is the best thing you can do to these trucks outside of disabling the abs when offroad. My 15 was never super fast to lock, but it wasn't super slow. The bypass locks near instantly. If the below is correct they didn't lock any faster the light just came on as soon as you turned the s...
