Re: Thuren 3.0 KING on 2018 Powerwagon!

My understanding is anything larger than 2.5's would be too large to fit through, without hitting, the rear shock holes in the frame has that be addressed somehow?

Re: Before there was RamBox

Seems like they used to have cooler accessories. What happened there? Like 3rd gens had Mopar sliders... I remember those cargo boxes they were a good idea but I never saw a truck that had them. I love my mopar "rock rails" as they were called, but people didn't want to buy them until they stopped ...

Re: Gen 3 Exhaust Manifold Removal Quesiton

You should be able to see if the going to work or not. Pull the fender liners and you should have a good view of everything. I took a look and the passenger side header is very close to the frame the only potential problem I see is not being able to pull the bolts all the way out before they make c...

Re: Gen 3 Exhaust Manifold Removal Quesiton

My 2011 is probably identical to yours, they didn’t really change much on the engine. I easily did mine without lifting the engine. Some bolts you have to get from underneath but they’re all very accessible. I ordered some new hardware to swap them out at M8x1.25-45mm. That’s the stock length but t...

Gen 3 Exhaust Manifold Removal Quesiton

I am thinking of replacing the exhaust manifold bolts/studs before they break. The shop manual says to remove exhaust manifold you need to lift the engine up. I would like to remove the old bolts and put in new one without removing the manifold and gasket. Does anyone know if this can be done withou...

Re: Recent Warranty Work

Hello TommyG,

A 3/4 ton 4x4 that is six years old, those don't seem like unreasonable repairs especially if you 'go off road. If it was me I would replace the other hub they usually fail pairs Rockauto has good prices, SKF makes the Mopar hubs.

Re: Yellowranger1's Blue Wagon

What you described above is pretty much Carli's suspension design philosophy "softer ride with more control and bottom-out resistance in the backcountry". Do you plan on getting their rear coils too? Yup! I've had a pair of their rear 3" coils sitting on my rack for a while now. I picked these up f...

Re: Yellowranger1's Blue Wagon

Can't wait to get these shiny shocks dirty! If all goes well, we're going to try and hit the road this weekend! On road, the feel is very similar to stock, but the harshness of cracks in the road or expansion joints is gone. On my way home yesterday, I deliberately hit this BIG dip by home (big as ...

Nice upgrades, did you have the adjusters added to help with rear squat/sag when loaded or something else? Time to take those Kings through some paces out in the desert!

Back in the old DT days. It was recommended that we use the OEM tranny filters instead of the aftermarket filters. The aftermarket filters had a number of different issues. Guess this never never got fixed over the years.
x2 common issue, only use Mopar filters.

After 2 years of no rear door lock and power windows. Finally decided to look. :( I knew a wire was broken. But jeez I fixed my drivers side rear door wiring twice and the passenger's side once the original drivers side hardness final gave up the ghost and had to be replaced a couple of weeks...

Worked a little on the kings today. Just the rear. Pulled them and changed the compression valving a bit. Trying to make it softer over the frost heaves. Still not quite good but defiantly an improvement. When I get bored I'll pull them again and make minor changes. These body down resi setups are ...

Re: Oil help?!

I looked up the specs in the owners manual and is says 0w-40 for all conditions. Don't assume that the 0w is just for cold weather it could be required for other reasons if it was my engine I would stick with a name brand 0w-40 synthetic.

Re: Winch works 5 seconds or less

So it was the plug, specifically the ground wire in the plug. I replaced it with a new one, made sure every connection was sparkly clean and removed the LVI and the thermal overload. It's almost like a normal Warn now. I also put in an Odyssey extreme battery, so hopefully now I am good. I know I h...

Bilstein's can be leaky I've had a half a dozen various sets of them 4600s, 5100s, 7100s and they all developed leaks in under 50k miles. Somethings to consider if you go shock shopping. - Size does matter if you want a real performance improvement you need 2.5s - If you go with another set of 2.0 y...
