Crazy Timing!
A buddy who used to work for me here at 8LUG asked me to find him a 10-13 just this morning.
I gave him your number. His name is Tommy.

Re: Coil springs. Again
Fair enough George. If I took that out of context I apologize. The way I read it was that the 03-09 coils were only netting 2.5" over stock. But then the reason I only have 2.25" over stock makes even less sense. And why my coil is so crooked. Not sure on the crooked part other than the coils may n...

Re: Coil springs. Again
So I have been none too happy with my Carli springs as some of you know. Supposed to be a 3" kit and I only am 2.25" ish over stock. I've been told I'm crazy. I'm tired of the ride from these as I hit the hard coil rate going over a stick. Well I just found a post on dtx that made my decision. Toni...

Re: Aftermarket wheels for 2014+PW
Did anyone ever pull a 2014-2015 PW wheel and measure the backspace on it? I haven't measured the backspace on a '14+ PW wheel but it should be the same as the 2500's which have a 7" backspace. That makes it tougher to find a wheel that keeps the tires tucked in a bit although a little less backspa...

Re: Buying 'Carli' air bags direct= muuch cheaper
I was looking at the Carli long travel air bags today and couldnt help but notice the "air ride" logo on the bags. A quick Google search got me to the manufacturer where you can buy the exact part #90009100 air bag for 200$ each directly from them. They also have all the mounts for 25$ each. Add ai...

Re: Coil springs
Neil, I'm sure that a huge part of your poor ride is that fact that 2 of your 4 shocks have had no Nitrogen in them for the last 3.5 months. This makes them pretty much useless. As far a how a multi rate coil works, on most trucks you will only have an inch or so of the initial rate before transitio...

Re: Shock feedback sticky?
I can tell you the 7100s don't like -30. They seem to get better when they warmed up after driving for a bit but they do not perform like in summer. I have 2 that I have managed to blow the main seal on. Carli is helping me out as did George but I haven't done anything about it. Still too cold to r...

If they were installed backwards the rubbing would be much more pronounced.

I have contacted ready lift and they say due to the different long arm In the front on the pw and also that the pw has an additional 2" lift over the regular 2500 . when one of there leveling kits are installed on a pw , the truck no longer has enough caster to allow the truck to be aligned properl...

Re: Carli Control Arm Rubbing
Like others have said, check the length of your track bar. It should be 39-39 1/8th from center to center. Assuming that you are running stock wheels it is the combination of the high backspace on the factory wheel combined with how tall and wide the 35" Toyo's are compared to all other 35's on the ...

Re: I want to make a soft ride smart bar....thoughts?
Lee,
Have you driven your truck at speed with one of the end links disconnected? I would suspect that the combination of Diesel coils, radius arms, and your better shocks will do a decent job of controlling body roll.

Re: I want to make a soft ride smart bar....thoughts?
Without getting into all of the math and science I will say that the Torsion Sway Bars flat out work. Even for guys that don't go off road. The factory puts in an extremely stiff bar since they have to be prepared for Joe Public to radically overload the truck and then try to drive it likes it's emp...

Thinking of possibly doing a SpynTec conversion and RCV axles in the spring. Just starting to research this now and feeling rather noobish about it. Hoping you can clarify some things for me. Re: Aftermarket wheels for 2014+PW
Welcome to the PWR. The only wheel that I'm considering right now is one of the AEV Wheels that should be released early 2015. The AEV Rim is a 17x8.5 with a +27mm offset while the Power Wagon Rim is a 17x8 with a +38mm offset. I made a thread about the Power Wagon Rim Offset a while back, here's a...

Re: Track Bar Opinions
I've been using Hotchkis silicone bushing grease for the one that's in there now. I been torquing the bolt to 300 lbs on the frame where the bushing is. The spacer is inside the bushing. Carli had a problem at one time with supplying the wrong length bushing sleeve. That was my first one. The probl...

Re: Wheel hop, axle wrap...
The rear axle hop is very minimal if at all noticeable. I had mine in some 24" + deep snow in the woods hunting traveling fire break trails & the rear end was solid, no hop. I wrote an engineering explanation about leafs vs spring rear ends, read it if you're interested in knowing more about the me...

Re: Wheel hop, axle wrap...
I can remember my 06 3/4 ton Dodge having issues with wheel hop, and by reading on here it sounds like the power wagons are known for it as well. My question is has the rear linked suspension on the 14's and 15's alleviated most of this, or is there still an issue. By design I would think the linke...

Thanks all, for the useful feedback. I am looking for long term performance out of one for my Power Wagon & am also looking for a small one or a pair, for my snowblower. Over a course of 7 or 8 years, I've had Rigids, Plashlights, China no names, Kawells, and the Rigids definitely out perform the others. I have a few friends that have airboats and surface drive boats, just about everyone has a bar light or LED of some sort. The Rigids hold up better, no moisture ge...
