Re: 2018 PW Front Bumper

The AEV front bumper requires you to remove the winch from the stock cradle between the frame rails and relocate it to the bumper itself? If so then I am no longer interested in the bumper, that sucks. I think the Thuren bumper is less than easy on the eyes lol, I find it flat out ugly so that's off...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

I asked for better pricing on the air bags and cradles and auto anything took off another $20-ish off of the combo. So the air bags and cradles have been ordered, I hope to get them installed next weekend if they arrive by then.

And although its not in a kit, George has everything needed in one location, including several different onboard air setup's to choose from if desired... https://8lugtruckgear.com/Air-Bags-c192/ Are there any coupons or discount codes I should be aware of for his site? I've seen better prices elsew...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

The weight ratings as I understand do not include anything whatsoever in the camper. Add a full water tank, any grey water, any camping gear, mountain bikes, lots and pans, food, it is EASY to hit 1500. I have a friend that had a Grandby, it weighed 2300lbs with water. Yours is smaller of course, j...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

Oh gotcha, that’s cool. We had a Coleman stove, 5 gallon water bladder and bottled water, and a laptop to watch movies on in our camper. That did just fine and we really enjoyed the lower weight. I think having less weight and fewer things to go wrong in the camper is likely a rewarding move. I agr...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

Those 4WheelCampers are HEAVY HEAVY. Their posted weight is garbage. You’re likely looking at minimum 1500lbs once you add water and some gear. The true full-size campers easily tip 1800+lbs. You WILL sag with that much weight. Air bags for stability and load capacity will definitely be needed. You...

Re: Tire Feedback

I've been running the Toyo RT in a 37x13.50x18 ever since the ODO read 2,500 miles. I am now at 11,700 miles and they have only lost 2/32 of tread. They are fairly quiet under 50mph and handle very similarly to the stock DuraCraps, above 60mph you hear them a little but the noise is nothing like a t...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

Your going to want airbags for sure. Your also going to want to add 1 inch Traxada spacers in the rear to get some of your rake back. How often will the camper be on the truck? If it is of any duration i'd also think about onboard air for the bags. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk It will only ...

As long as your truck isnt leveled, it should be close. Probably a little low out back.
It's closer to level than stock, I have Thuren 1.5" coils up front but there is still a slight rake, maybe 3/4" higher in the rear.

We have had 4G's go through with little problem. Pinstriping depends on your driving skill. The one year. We had an older ferb crew cab with 8ft follow us for a while. Talk about a flexy frame. :jawdrop: Good to know. I have always wanted to check out that area of the country and try my hand at tho...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

Interesting, I don't recall seeing that paper. I know your traditional slide-in usually has the overhang which leads to more weight to the rear and outboard of the bed and changes the COG of the camper itself. The FWC lacks that area and it's retained within the bed entirely. Being that it is a pop-...

Re: Airlifter 5000 Ultimate airbags w/ Daystar cradles '14+

I am looking to add a Four Wheel Camper Hawk to the bed of my truck for an upcoming trip. It weighs right at 1000lbs. Has anyone run that kind of payload with the factory rear suspension setup and if so how badly did it sag? I am wondering if I should bother with the Airlift bag setup for a payload...

How well do these trucks fit down the trails there? Can one expect a lot of pin striping and rock rash?

Going to run PINS at the end of the month with a group of guys from Dallas (Toyota's mostly), Friday Nov. 30 through Sunday Dec. 2. Let me know if anyone wants to join us and I can get in touch for details.

Either gulf coast crawl shop/javiers complete auto
Or
Brave motorsports
I forgot about Javier's, he did some work on our LC and he did the entire engine/tranny swap on my father's FJ40. I'll get with him when it's time.

Re: 37" spare locations

Simple e-tracks and straps. I'll likely run it standing up on the side (in front of the drivers side wheel well) or staying up flat against the bulkhead on the drivers side now that I am running a shell full-time.
