Re: Limiting straps

I’m working on a replacement crossmember that has some more room for the driveshaft among other improvements. That doesn’t look like the shaft is touching the crossmember? But yeah that’s close!! It is, I had to do some maneuvering to get the axle to drop lower to get the shock in on one side and h...

Re: Limiting straps

Could you shoot an email to Thuren and let him know? Even the extended travel shocks were shortened a bit and shouldn’t allow the driveshaft to touch the crossmember. The earlier kits with 12” extended travel shocks could touch the crossmember. That’s not a big difference at the point the driveshaf...

Re: Limiting straps

I guess you could consider it the gas tank skid plate support. The Shocks are brand new. Here are some photos for reference https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181027/930aaf68fceffe326b73792d84b99d3d.jpg It’s the furthest back support that the drive shaft hits at full droop https://uploads.tapatalk-c...

Re: Limiting straps

Don is coming out with bolt on right sized limit straps. Some have added custom straps. Most of us bang the skid plate out of the way and clear it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk I was going to do that but I was concerned more about the brake lines already stretching with the shaft hitting. A...

Limiting straps

I got my thuren 3.0/2.5 shocks the other day and installed them. I noticed on the rear at full droop the brake lines are all pulled, and the drive shaft is laying on the skid plate.

Has anyone done limiting straps with their thuren kit?

Ah so it’s just stoping the cable from getting caught on anything rather then actually holding it. Got it

Re: Thuren driver side e brake drop bracket

The drivers side e-brake bracket replaced the factory bracket. You installed it on the frame, correct? They mount in totally different spots between the two sides. The drivers side has a round cutout in the bracket to fit around the round tube protruding through the frame at the top of the wheel we...

the passenger side atleast holds the e brake cable.

Thuren driver side e brake drop bracket

So I installed the bracket but for the life of me I can’t tell from the picture what I do with the old bracket.

I tried to keep it on the lip of the thuren bracket but it just falls off.

Anyone have any clear pics of theirs?

Re: Kicker shock annoyance

Put a ratchet strap around the shock so you can compress it to a convenient length. You can also raise/lower the axle to change how things line up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I was thinking of ways to compress it.... didn’t even think of a ratchet strap [emoji23] I’ll try that Sent from my ...

Kicker shock annoyance

So i installed my thuren springs and the sway bar today. I didn't have time to do the track bar unfortunately. Anyway i took the axle bolt of the kicker shock to drop the axle a little more. Well...for the life of me i couldn't get that bolt back in. I couldn't get the right angle. do i need to take...

Re: Removal of rear sway bar?

There are none you can buy. I looked. But there are a LOT of DIY examples online. Jeepers have been building these for years. It's fairly inexpensive. Usually, for me, the only time I remove mine is when I'm in Moab, and I usually happen to be in Moab for a week or so, and I end up just removing th...

A little custom SPOD mounting

So I wanted a good switch setup for my lights, I didn’t like my setup I had on my last truck (rocker switches above the ebrake to a busman fuse box) I felt like I had to reach too far and couldn’t see what I was pressing. So I chose spod for this truck, but I didn’t like the idea of using the above ...

Re: Removal of rear sway bar?

I am imminently working on a solution to run the Thuren swaybar links with rear diff covers. If things work right I’ll have a cheap solution. Prototypes are already in my hands. You can run without the rear swaybar but really the tears of these trucks ought to have one on, with how onboard the coil...

Removal of rear sway bar?

I was thinking about taking off my rear sway bar. Does anyone notice any loss in control or increased body roll with highway driving? I want purple cranium diff covers and I want to get a thuren kit but I don’t want the sway bar to rub. It would save me a few hundred on the links as well Sent from m...

Curious, did Thuren do custom shocks for you? All I see on their site is 2.5 Kings for 2014+ \ They are here: https://www.thurenfabrication.com/products/dodge-ram/2014-18-2500-2013-18-3500/components/shocks/thuren-king-3-0-front.html His site is kind of organized weirdly. gotcha, so you are using t...
