Re: PW Tool Box Setup
Nice set up! I've got something similar in mine. I mounted my Jerry can racks (one fuel, one water) further back along my bed rails near the tailgate. The Hi Lift got mounted onto my bed rack. The cans and racks I got are from http://www.billet4x4.com/. They have NATO type cans available, and are DO...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
The below is a recent reply I made to Twin Stick over on that "other" forum. I am trying to look at this thing as objectively as possible, and not be "married" to one particular design. The skid itself is very strong...no question there. What seems to have most folks concerned about it is the attach...

Re: Seven years ago today...
Nice! Still loving mine....even though I haven't had mine near as long. It's been running just fine so far and I plan to keep it for as many years as I can. I'm sure you're of the same mind. For most PW owners....it's the Holy Grail of trucks! Glad yours is still going strong!

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
Yeah....they would certainly want to let all of us Power Wagon people know how to do things! Except we won't be able to hear them talking over the sound of their own fabrication awesomeness!

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
Yep, I saw both of those designs before. The first one is from AFE (I believe). I wrote them about it and they said that they did not plan on making one for the AAM 10.5 any time soon. The second one is by Nth Mobility (for XJ's & such) and I actually sent a picture of that one to Iron Pig as a star...

Re: DT Profab Steering Brace Question
Ken what are you doing reading the instructions??? You want the :winchmob: to revoke your "man card" or what?  I know....mea culpa  .....but not reading them has bit me in the butt more than a few times in the past. I chock it up to my military past.....any time you didn't know so...

Re: DT Profab Steering Brace Question
Unless I am missing something, the brace attaches to the frame at two points where the swaybar does and then to the steering gear box sector shaft extension nut. None of which change their position whether the truck is lifted or not. Suspension increases or decreases in height should not affect the ...

DT Profab Steering Brace Question
Just got one of these the other day, along with some Kore bump stops. Before I start taking things apart under there, I am wondering if I need additional parts to do the install. I have the Readylift 2" leveling kit on mine. In the DT instructions, it states that if the vehicle is lifted, "special a...

Yellowknife...welcome to PWR and the :winchmob: ! Trust me, this crew will have your back and help you out any way they can. I'd say if you plan....repeat....plan to go submarining with your rig again, just at least invest in a snorkel and go through the steps of waterproofing your truck as best you...

[ By all means...vent away! I'm right there with you! Yeah....the whole thread degraded into a "look at me and my fabrication greatness" forum! I've dealt with that type before. Never back down from some meathead trying to bully you. Never backed down growing up near Pittsburgh, never backed down i...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
I know what you mean, Ken. I sat on the couch with the laptop for over an hour trying to formulate an appropriate response to PCP. I failed. Anything I came up with would have been ignorant, and I'm tired of that. FYI, PCP and 06trxwhatever( the guy who gave you the metalurgic/snowflake lesson) are...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
I just went over to take a look. I generally don't post over there anymore but couldn't hold back. The extra bracing is a good idea----but he and PCP are asshats that would be spitting teeth if they were that ignorant in person! Might be a good idea to just have the thread closed over there----the o...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
Big props and thanks to Cruz and Ace :notworthy: for having my back against the onslaught from the "Butt-Pirate 4x4 crowd". The one guy actually had a valid point once he settled down and stopped trying to claim he was the "Messiah-of-all-things-fabricated". Personally, I really could give a damn le...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
Just ran the skid overtop a couple 53 lb. Kettlebells from my garage gym. It didn't work out as planned, the skid just drug the KBs along underneath  Well, they did not harm the skid in any way and no deflection noted. On to more testing as soon as I can get it to some off road trail network. O...

Re: Group Buy of Iron Pig Off Road Rear Diff Skid
Just an update, I was able to scrape the skid over a hard high point locally (cement) to determine if any deflection occurred. It contacted at the rear portion under the diff case. No deflection of the skid at all, just a scrape and a little paint removal from the skid. Also, after even closer inspe...

I got rid of a 79 Jeep that I had over $25k worth of mods and upgrades in so that I could get my dream truck....my Power Wagon. It is unquestionably the most versatile and capable production truck available. I will keep it until the wheels fall off and she finally gives up the ghost. Hopefully that'...
