I have a 2007 G56 with 50k miles. It has done the exact same thing for the last 11 years----- I stopped worrying about it about 9 years ago. lol.
It is normal.

Yes Canada Twin. I live a few hours north of PowerwagonMark and a few of the others you have met. We got together a few years ago for a little offroad and liquid libations. The truck has 77,000 km--which is about 47,500 miles. Should take me into my retirement in five years.

Does the Krown smell as strong as the Fluid Film?
You smell it when it burns off the exhaust for 20 min or so--- after that, no issues at all.

Krown and Fluid Film work. I have done my 2007 with Krown every fall, and Fluid filmed the winch, smart bar, lockers, and every pivot point every six months. Looks pretty good for an old girl.

Valve Cover Gasket Leak

I have been trying for a month to track down a smell I was getting from my truck after I would drive it for a few miles. It was driving me nuts. I literally spent hours going over and under the truck looking for anything out of the ordinary. Turns out the drivers side valve cover has developed a lea...

I will third the EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with Yellowstuff. Spendy, but a dramatic improvement over stock!

Re: Changing Plugs

I used a 2 step mini ladder. Socket with a 5 inch extension and a swivel. Took off the hoses and the intake tube on the passenger side. Very easy, did one cylinder at a time. 2 and a half hours total time, with a 15 minute beer break between cylinder banks to let my ribs rest.

Re: Interchangeability of engines

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could afford it and ran across one. But would the tranny hold it is the question. I want to bump mine some with a cam, throttle body, headwork, exhaust but afraid of the transmission.... I've got the G56. If it can handle the torque of the Cummins, it should be good. I...

I'm holding out for a Hellcat motor! lol! If they ever come up with a drop in plug and play version for our truck it will be going in. I only put on about 3500 miles a year on it so they may as well be fun miles.

I will also chime in with the others above me. I went to EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with yellowstuff pads. It stops like a sports car now compared with the stockers. The difference is truly remarkable.

Check the wires in the area where they enter the rear diff. I remember a few members had some issues with them cracking where they made a tight turn into the diff.

Could be something as simple as U Joints. Noise only happening in transition from open to closed throttle could be a little slop.

Re: How much are my wheels and tires worth?

I bought 4 O/E Power Wagon rim that had been used for 6 months for $400 (including the centre caps and the pressure monitors). I bought 4 brand new 315/70/17 Duratracs (in Canada---which is more expensive than the U.S) for $1250, so I would guess $500 U.S for them. If it was me I would ask $1000 for...

Re: Driveshaft contacted skid plate

I trimmed my gas tank skid plate and shimmed down the crossmember 1/4". I have BDS 4" springs w/Thuren shackles in back. Oh and my 06 had an aluminum shaft originally. I'll never claim to know who got aluminum or steel. My opinion is trim that skid plate asap. And as always I get my truck on the RT...

Re: Driveshaft contacted skid plate

The G56 Wagons from '06 thru '08 came with steel driveshafts rather than aluminum. Some of the big brain types on this forum might be able to chime in on whether they are the same length and would be a direct drop in right from the dealer. Just a thought for discussion.

This is the second one they sent me and still doesn't seem right.
No problem clearance wise with the smart bar. It is a little close to the track bar on the drivers' side, but does not rub.
