WTB- set of 14 10.5" AAM rear diff cover bolts

I can't seem to locate these for sale. Before I hit the local dealership I thought I'd check here first. PM me if you have a quality set I could buy. Mine are rusted badly. Thanks!

Re: Master cylinder going bad?

Bingo! I replaced the R brake hose and it fixed my problem instantly. I finally walked by the truck after I parked it amd heard the caliper releasing slowly and methodically... I'm assuming the master cylinder had pressure to force fluid in but the hose was occluded too much to let the pressure back...

Master cylinder going bad?

<t>I have a recently increasing instance of calipers dragging once they warm up (I.e after a few hard stops). I've replaced all 4 of them so far and have even backed off the parking brake to the point it hardly functions. My problem is that my rear caliper will drag (I.E. The wheel gets hot and I ca...

Tailgate emblem removal

I recently bought a tailgate and need to get the existing emblems off. Is there an acceptable way to do it so as not to ruin the underlying paint? Heat? Cold? Scraping? Solvent? Anyone have an experience doing this? Thanks all!

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

HUMBLE PIE! We ran the truck with the rear wheels on a lift and still felt the shudder. After we lifted the whole truck up we discovered that the front u-joint on the rear drive shaft was indeed bad- but only in one orientation- otherwise it behaved like a normal joint. I can't believe that was all ...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

Ugh! So I torched two bolt heads off and removed the front driveshaft...the symptoms are the same if not worse!! I rordered (and prepaid) new bolts already before I read your offer Damage- sorry. I would have gladly bought yours instead. I truly hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, it's beyond f...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

So I took another tranny guy for a ride and he really thinks it's the front drive shaft. Im in the process of pulling it but the. problem is one of the T40 bolts to the front axle flange is stripped....my luck isn't the best lately. Anyone have any ideas how to get it out? It was really on there tig...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

And the dance continues....finally got the truck on the lift today. It definitely needs new upper ball joints, but the rear driveshaft universals were fine. In fact, all the universals looked good...the issue seems to have worsened from last week and NOW when I put it in 4wd (going straight at any s...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

No squeaks so far. I did take another master mechanic for a ride today and he was shocked that he could feel the vibration in the passenger's seat and even more so when I let off the gas it nearly went away in an instant...needless to say, I scheduled some rack time next Friday. We are going to pull...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

The rear has never been serviced. I had the the front diff rebuilt because of a bad pinion bearing a couple years ago.

Will a bad u-joint be detectable by simply jacking up the rear wheels and spinning the driveshaft in neutral?

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

Today I had a trusted Tranny guy drive the truck and he insists that it is a bad universal in the rear drive shaft that is causing my vibration. I guess that's a cheaper fix but if true it makes me mad because I changed them out once already about 15k miles ago. I visually inspected the joints and I...

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

UPDATE- I checked all the universals and they look OK- I have replaced them all within the last couple years...it now seems like the issue is more defined in second and third gear. Does that change or influence anyone's opinion?

Re: Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

Wow! Thank you for the good info, I appreciate your interest in my dilemma. To update-: I checked the fluid and it was down a full quart and a half. Initially, it seemed to cure 90% of the shudder but after I let it cool down and drove the truck cold the symptoms returned. I think I can more specifi...

Big Time shudder at low speed/low pedal

All- My PW just developed a significant and Intermittnet low speed shudder in the drive train that is most pronounced when the truck is under light throttle and shifts to a higher gear (i.e. 1-2). As soon as I give it gas it seems to go away but returns once again at low throttle. The 4wd shifter le...

Auxiliary power steering cooler help

I already replaced the cooler a few years ago but it looked like my truck pissed itself on the driveway. I crawled underneath and it appears that the rubber/braided cooler lines may have dry rotted. Does anyone know what size it is? I was thinking of simply using heater hose since it is on the low p...

Re: Remote Door Lock failure...

So...my L rear door doesn't power lock anymore and neither of my rear speakers are working. Before I tear into the harnesses I just wondered if there is any reason related to the radio that may be the cause. My fader is squarely in the middle..I did install the factory Sirius set up and it has U-con...

Re: Steering Stutter S-s-s-lowly w-w-worsening

I had the same thing when I bought my truck used. I thought the box was going but it turned out to be a leak in the PS auxiliary cooler. It was sucking in air. I replaced it and bled it out. Good as new! Good luck.
