2013 PW FS

Hey guys I've got a truck on order and have a deal with trading in the PW. Just had a baby and need a more practical. That being said I can always change my deal with the dealer to an all cash deal and sell the PW outright. I have Thuren control arms 315 DuraTracs that are still well over half tread...

2017 PW hood decal

So I was looking on the ram trucks website and ended up drifting over to the 2017 power wagon and noticed the hood decal. Isn't the hood decal supposed to be like the hood on my 1969 mach one and help keep the sun out of your eyes? The picture of it on the ram trucks web site is glossy and reflectiv...

Re: First long haul

That ain't light Nope not light. But the power wagon rolling on 35s pulled it so much better than I thought it would. That's the heaviest load I've had behind the power wagon. I pulled it 30 miles and had no trouble running the 65 and 55 mph speed limits on the roads I was on. Even pulling long hil...

It's been a long time since I updated this post I've towed a few times but usually forget to get pictures. Thought you guys might enjoy seeing the PW at work.

Re: Airaid Intake?

I have it and noticed not only a more aggressive engine sound but a bit better higher RPM power. I also noticed a bit lower intake air temperatures. In reality however I got the AirAid to make room for my Thuren shock towers. I'm happy with the setup mostly because it clears my shock towers. Once I...

As close to the factory wheel offset you can get. We have guys on here that know the numbers but I've never allocated memory for the numbers since I don't plan to ever change wheels.

Re: Airaid Intake?

The dry synthamax filter is awesome. Zero dust in the tube, unlike the oiled K&N that didn't filter the fine dust. That's good to know I was leaning toward the dry filter but read that Airaid recommends the oil filter if in heavy dust conditions and the dirt roads I travel are extremely dusty. What...

Airaid Intake?

So you can get an Airaid cold air intake from Advance Auto for $346 + tax and free shipping. I wanted to check and see if anyone here is running one on they're 5.7 Hemi? Pros, Cons, Likes, Dislikes?

Re: Decisions

Recently traded my 2012 PW for the 2016PW. I'm not sold on the 6.4 multi-displacement motor. The PW is far too heavy for the MDS to be very useful and sure seems like a point for maintenance and computer problems down the road. I really miss the 4.56 gears in my 2012 PW. The new suspension feels a ...

CAD. :thppt:

6.4 is nice, but takes expensive oil.

11.5" rear end, but only 4:10 gears.
I think you're wrong about more flex. The leaf spring trucks have more flex.

Re: Questions for DOR

Backwoods is actually 2.5 hours from us, they are over in Fayetteville AR and we're over by Mountain Home. I've heard a lot of good things about the quality. I was also going to mention the Aluminess bumpers, or even a Buckstop. Both of those look pretty simple and don't seem to stick out as far as...

Re: Questions for DOR

I might give back woods bumper a call and see what they can do for me. I understand you'd need a press to make factory style bumpers in high quantity but for a one off it can be done without a press. But again it doesn't have to look pressed I want a bumper that doesn't stick out any further than th...

Re: Questions for DOR

Thanks for thinking of us! I hesitate to get into bumpers because we had a rough time with the Road Rhino bumpers we used to sell. They are very time-consuming to build, and without marking them up considerably, it's real easy to lose money on them. The example I give often is that in the time it t...

Re: Retired PW from towing duties

Going to be interesting to see what it does with 16k or so in tow. With 4.44 gearing and a trans that most likely has better gear ratios, I bet it pulls quite a bit better than a PW. Wont compare to a cummins though  Depends on which cummins you're talking about. The 6.4 is rated 370 HP an...

I don't know about DOR, but this intrigues the hell out of me! That's what I like to hear I'm sure there would be a lot of interest on this forum and like I said previously I'm sure many 3/4 and up hemi powered trucks would be interested. I'd probably put one on my new 1 ton as well and look into g...

Questions for DOR

So it's exciting to see vendor participation on the forum. It's nice to be able to reach out and ask questions. So I thought I'd pose this question to DOR being they said they are looking into making Power Wagon specific parts. I've been planing on making a front bumper for my PW for a while but wit...

They 6.4 hemi is an option all the way up to the 5500. I'm really liking the Aisin transmission mated to the 6.4 with 4.44...

Thanks yeah I custom ordered it. I have a 5500 with the 6.7 and dealing with the DEF fluid on that truck has made me decide to never buy another diesel until they come up with a better solution than DEF.

Retired PW from towing duties

So the power wagon was never a dedicated tow rig but it has pulled 12k a few times on the gooseneck trailer and the inclosed car hauler with the 69 mach one several times. Well with the addition of a dedicated farm truck flat bed the PW is going to get a fiberglass topper probably ARE and continue t...

I don't air down and air up all the time. I run 35 to 40 psi in my 50 psi duratracs and go through snow like it's not there. I don't have a TPMS waring either because I had my dealership reset the parameters.

Re: Wheel hop, axle wrap...

Yeah my 2013 with leaf springs doesn't have any issue in snow. Haven't been in deep sand but have been in plenty of snow and deep snow. I have no axle wrap or wheel hop. I'm running Goodyear Duratrac 35's. Heck most of the time on the roads around here unless it's a foot or more I just play around i...
