Re: Fed up!!! (More dura trash)

Including my kids...............after they went to college that is !!! They were not before college. They brainwash all the kids these days. They are experts at using/manipulating statistics to sell their bullshit to young impressionable minds. When someone (like me) confronts one of them (like my s...

Re: Bumming around New England area

When leaving Letchworth State Park (the Perry entrance), there is a long steep hill. Everyone rides their brakes on the way down it. But when leaving & going up it, there was a newer F-150 pulling a similar sized camper as ours, right behind us. Not sure what year or engine or trans it had in it, bu...

Bumming around New England area

Just got back from a bunch of camping, with the camper & my semi converted utility trailer. Went to Mass, Conn, Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont using the utility trailer & the 4Runner. Was gone about 2 weeks, came home & 2 days later, took the Power Wagon & camper to Letchworth State Park for a week....

Re: Tires! BFG KM3 Verus Toyo MT

Some say that your payload should be decreased by 2% for every 1000' increase in elevation, starting at 1000'. Example: If heading up to 10,000' - that would be a 20% reduction in payload. 5000' would be 10%, & so on & so forth. I am sure turbo chargers would help greatly vs just a stock gas engine....

Re: Fed up!!! (More dura trash)

I have said this before, I think the manufacturers tires that are on many new vehicles are either made to a different standard or they are blems that they buy in LARGE quantities to get huge discounts. Vehicles that we bought new that had tire problems of one sort or another & they only last half as...

Re: G56 Neutral Noise Question

My G56 does not make that noise. You can just barely hear hear my throw out bearing, & when you depress the clutch, it goes away. It sounds nothing like that though & you really have to listen hard to hear it all. Yes, I run a 50/50 mix of Mopar ATF+4 & Lucas Lube 140w gear oil. No problems so far. ...

Re: Diff Temp video

Based on the videos so far, it seems that the only way to go would be an actual diff oil cooler with hoses & a electric pump. And, doing that, in and of itself, presents another whole host of issues specifically for us Power Wagon owners. 1) If that pump fails, your f***ed, it runs every time the tr...

Re: Diff Temp video

First off, I think we all know that soon after, he will offer his solution to this age old issue. Diff temp does seem to be more of an issue these days, because of the electronic lockers (and the plastic parts used in them that are exposed to the hot fluid) that are available these days, not just in...

Happy with my Fab 4 rear bumper......except the powdercoat sucks & is rusting. Seems strong enough so far.......but i have not dragged it on the rocks either. Been rear ended in a parking lot once first week it was on....no damage....but totaled the front of lady's car. Has recovery points, bolts to...

Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

3rd Gen here but i used the one click Z-36 package from PowerStop. VERY happy with the increased stopping power while towing the camper. It's like Murphy's Law, when you are towing & at speed, everyone wants to pull right out in front of you at the last second. Yesterday, I even proved it to my wife...

Re: Diff Temp video

IMHO, most people, including me, install these with the hopes of prolonging the life of the rear axle & its internals. I have 3 different temp gauges, so i KNOW that my numbers are not that far off exact. The rear axle in my particular truck may not have been set up to run optimally, as the temp rea...

Re: 2012 Off road rattle

OK, not for nothing, but what am i missing here ? I have had 5 trucks & an old 84 subaru wagon, all with transfer cases. One truck had 325,000 miles on it. Never, ever had a t-case issue or problem. Yes, i maintained them by just changing the oil. My current 08' PW has going on 50k miles. And the ma...

Re: Battery talk.

After disconnecting the Odyssey Ultimizer charger & leaving batteries unhooked & alone for 2 days, the Gp 24 Exide wet cell dcycle camper battery dropped to 12.75v & the brand new (ok, 1 year old) X-900 Cabela's battery was reading 13.01v. So, once again maintaining 13.6 volts when unhooked from cha...

Re: Lifted floor jack....

I've actually been thinking of picking up this to keep in the truck. The Hi-Lift is useless for changing a tire with all I have going on now. I looked at the ProEagle, and I like them, but they are nearly 2x the cost of everyone else's aluminum jacks. https://www.jegs.com/images/photos/500/555/555-...

Re: Lifted floor jack....

For the money difference at HF, i'd get the 3 ton aluminum. You can catch them on sale for $159. They work well. I have 2 of the old style HF 3 ton steel floor jacks & 1 of the new 3 ton aluminum ones i like them all. One of the steel ones is 26 yrs old now, been rebuilt 3x (O-rings & jack oil) & st...
