Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

Seriously, you guys have no idea how much better these trucks are off-road & over obstacles with low gearing. There is considerably less stress put on the drivetrain components with super lo gears vs trying to power up or bump up & over obstacles. That's why Uni-Mogs freakin' ROCK! They have gearing...

Re: Front Diff Blow Up

Totally off topic but....... This is part of the BS that gives everyone a bad taste in their mouth. Is the industry really so desperate, they have to hire incompetent people ? Gottlieb Daimler made the first truck in 1896. So, everyone has had 122 years to get their shit together. Yet we consumers a...

Re: Camper/Toy Hauler Advice

Maybe they improved over the years, IDK. Maybe Keystone Tail Gator was a shitty brand, IDK. I can tell you it was one of the first things I checked on our current camper & was glad to see it had actual angle iron supports. Also, not sure how much you guys know about water. I learned quite a bit whil...

Yeah, the Government will say "nothing to see here, move along." LOL

We will probably never know if the events on Nov 11th, had anything to do with the earthquake event on Nov 30th.

Re: 2020 Power Wagon - Spied

I really wonder if the reason why they have not taken the upgrades to the PW seriously is: They really don't want to take away from the Jeep line, as it really outsells the PW. Ram pickups 2017 --- 44,850 Jeep Wrangler 2017 --- 190,522 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017--240,696 Kind of like the Corvette-Cama...

Haters are gonna hate. I like it. But.........I just built a 4dr Rubicon online. Pretty loaded but not every option......$59,020 !!! So, I can't imagine what the diesel pickup will go for in a Rubicon pkg, loaded up. I think it is really cool that the doors can be removed & windshield folds down. Tu...

Re: Alaska Earthquake

Glad everyone is ok. Yeah, if that was in san fran, there would likely be more than 10x the damage & bad injuries as well. Big tall buildings & dense population is the reason why. Being prepared is a trait that most PW owners have in common. We have a lot of Amish around us. If the power goes out, t...

Re: Camper/Toy Hauler Advice

Just another fyi, mfg's will tell you that the fresh water tank is NOT designed to travel while it's full. Found out the hard way on our toy hauler. It broke 2 of the 4 support bars and severely bent the other 2. I had to do major redesign on that. Bars looked like angle iron but were actually sheet...

Re: Another Exhaust Option

That's great if you live in a State where that would pass inspection. That would pass in NY as of now, obviously only in the closed position. Probably be illegal in 5 years or so, lol. I always thought if diesel owners could do that before all the emissions crap they would have a lot less problems.

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow

Yup, I thought about that. But it's been cold, windy, snowy and rainy here lately. No motivation to undo that right now anyways. It also has a 2/0 gauge lugged cable w/300 amp fuse, in addition to the factory cable, that goes from alt to battery. It's bolted to firewall and zip tied & all my light w...

 Hey, thats ok. I don't need permission  You will most definitely beat me at the light. I simply do not care about that. What i do care about now is: how well will it tow our camper & mpg & longevity. It checked all the box's. Shame on Ram IMHO. They finally lost me as a customer. There is...

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow

Yup, I know Rusty. All the typical diesel stuff. I have also had gas go bad once. Lots of people get water in their gas when tanks leak. That also destroys an engine. Last year I think, maybe longer, there was a gas station on the Reservation in Niagara County where 34-54 people had engines seize or...

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow

 Actually, it is 181 hp @ 3400 rpms. Already did that. It was VERY windy the day we took the camper out with the ZR2. It had no issues towing into the wind. Transmission was not hunting at all because of all the torque down low. Even felt fine at 80 mph. Had no issue getting up to 80 mph towing...

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow

Yes, it really does tow much better. Much less drama. Reason being: the abundance of torque from idle. Because all the torque is available right from idle, there is no engine screaming as you roll through the gears, also meaning that there is no "transmission hunting for the right gear" as there is ...

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow

Apparently, you can lock the rear diff in 2wd but only if it is in "off-road mode". Also, front will only engage in 4Lo & also only if the rear diff is locked first. No 2wd Lo though. I will learn more about this after delivery. The rear locker will not engage unless under 20 mph in "off-road mode",...
