Re: 2012 5.7 oil filter part number

The difference between those 2 filters..............thread size. Old one is 3/4". New one is 22mm. So, if one is easier for you to get than the other, for $8, you can get the other adapter, so in a pinch, you could run either. They just thread into you oil filter housing. As you can see, the nut on ...

Re: Bumming around New England area

Forgot to mention, our ARB fridge set ups work awesome !!! It was sooooo nice to be able to travel & not worry about ice or soggy food or draining water or leaking cooler drains. I made up 2 HD battery boxes, out of 3/4" plywood for my biggest batteries. The Cabela's X-900 Gp 31 & a W-mart Marine Ev...

Order black powder coat, the cheesy arachnid or skeleton parts motif will be harder to see. Nothing else out there except for beefier diff covers and Gale Banks is tearing that market a new one right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk  Yes, he is. But lets face it, if ALL of his the...

Re: Rear Diff Bearings Already

Maybe i am just dumb & outdated........but how expensive can rear wheel bearings be & how hard are they to install in a "free floating" rear axle ? I thought you just remove the tire, unbolt the free floating hub, pull out the axle shaft, remove clip, use spanner wrench to remove spindle nut, remove...

Their thought process was probably to get rid of moisture inside the tubes but i think welding them solid & just drilling some tiny weep hole would be better ?

Re: Rear Diff Bearings Already

So, if oil level was at proper "factory height", & there is no obvious wear in ring gear or pinion, how would this be possible ? Did previous owner do some water crossings ? I think i'd ask about the fluids condition & level, if they inspected it.

Keep us posted please.

Re: Camper/Toy Hauler Advice

First off, I gotta say, campers are usually made as cheaply as possible. Know that going in. Warranties are nice but if you can fix it yourself, do it & save the aggravation. While i was at the dealer, on my numerous visits, with numerous campers, with numerous issues, i have seen other peoples camp...

Re: Bumming around New England area

When leaving Letchworth State Park (the Perry entrance), there is a long steep hill. Everyone rides their brakes on the way down it. But when leaving & going up it, there was a newer F-150 pulling a similar sized camper as ours, right behind us. Not sure what year or engine or trans it had in it, bu...

Bumming around New England area

Just got back from a bunch of camping, with the camper & my semi converted utility trailer. Went to Mass, Conn, Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont using the utility trailer & the 4Runner. Was gone about 2 weeks, came home & 2 days later, took the Power Wagon & camper to Letchworth State Park for a week....

Re: Tires! BFG KM3 Verus Toyo MT

Some say that your payload should be decreased by 2% for every 1000' increase in elevation, starting at 1000'. Example: If heading up to 10,000' - that would be a 20% reduction in payload. 5000' would be 10%, & so on & so forth. I am sure turbo chargers would help greatly vs just a stock gas engine....

Re: Fed up!!! (More dura trash)

I have said this before, I think the manufacturers tires that are on many new vehicles are either made to a different standard or they are blems that they buy in LARGE quantities to get huge discounts. Vehicles that we bought new that had tire problems of one sort or another & they only last half as...

Re: G56 Neutral Noise Question

My G56 does not make that noise. You can just barely hear hear my throw out bearing, & when you depress the clutch, it goes away. It sounds nothing like that though & you really have to listen hard to hear it all. Yes, I run a 50/50 mix of Mopar ATF+4 & Lucas Lube 140w gear oil. No problems so far. ...

Re: Diff Temp video

Based on the videos so far, it seems that the only way to go would be an actual diff oil cooler with hoses & a electric pump. And, doing that, in and of itself, presents another whole host of issues specifically for us Power Wagon owners. 1) If that pump fails, your f***ed, it runs every time the tr...

First off, I think we all know that soon after, he will offer his solution to this age old issue. Diff temp does seem to be more of an issue these days, because of the electronic lockers (and the plastic parts used in them that are exposed to the hot fluid) that are available these days, not just in...

Happy with my Fab 4 rear bumper......except the powdercoat sucks & is rusting. Seems strong enough so far.......but i have not dragged it on the rocks either. 3rd Gen here but i used the one click Z-36 package from PowerStop. VERY happy with the increased stopping power while towing the camper. It's like Murphy's Law, when you are towing & at speed, everyone wants to pull right out in front of you at the last second. Yesterday, I even proved it to my wife...
