Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

You basically have to be doing something ultra stupid to get abs to engage on dry pavement in a newer ram truck. It’s not something that’s easy or safe to accomplish really. There’s so much computer manipulation going on to optimize braking performance that it’s difficult to get the truck out of it...

Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

With literally every other vehicle I have ever owned, I have been able to trigger ABS on dry pavement. It’s something I like to test (under safe conditions of course) to get a sense of where the limits of grip are. With my power wagon I can’t trigger ABS. Given that other 4th gen owners have said, m...

That’s the thing. My truck refuses to engage ABS on dry pavement

Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

Got the truck back from the shop. Sounds like they didn't do much except run a code scanner and do a visual inspection. They couldn't tell me whether the truck is supposed to be able to trigger ABS on normal dry surface streets.

Re: 2018 Power Wagon Brake Issues

FWIW, my ‘16 is unable to trigger ABS on regular surface streets. Doesn’t matter how hard I stomp the pedal. I have about 24000 miles on mine. This is with stock wheels and brand new stock tires. I just dropped the truck off at the shop to have them go over the brakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapa...

My ‘16 acted this very way when I was wheeling it in Moab.

Cool to see others who help out rally racing. I occasionally help out 2 races out here in California (Gorman Rally and High Desert Trails) A few years back I had a similar experience, but with a cow on the stage right as the car was about to start. Went something like this: Me: "Comm captain, block ...

Re: What did you pay for your latest Gen PW

I'm curious if anyone has used more "structured" purchasing processes such as Costco for their PW's? -Given the relative ease by which the PW's are negotiated down things like Costco don't make sense for PW's? I used Costco for another vehicle recently and thought the process was super stress-free a...

Re: Dead power outlet. Fuse is ok

What do you have the fuse tap for? I use it to drive a relay, which in turn controls the circuit which powers all my accessories in the tool box (HAM radio battery charging and charge controller, voltage booster, tuner, etc etc etc, air compressor). I wanted that circuit to be ignition switched, so...

Re: Dead power outlet. Fuse is ok

So, I finally got this figured out. Turns out that the fuse tap *MUST* have fuses in both sockets. One is for the original circuit, and one for the new circuit. Simple as that. In hindsight, this is slapping-my-forehead simple, oh well. Live and learn :) The shop wanted 240 dollars to fix this. I po...

Re: Used WKOR sliders for sale

I've decided to not wheel the PW *that* much, so I don't need them any longer. Instead, I went and got an old Jeep which I trailer to wherever I go off-roading / rock crawling (just made the yearly pilgrimage to Moab this way), so I also didn't want to be limited on trailer towing due to less payloa...

**SOLD**: Used WKOR sliders for sale

Hi, I'm selling my used White Knuckle Off Road rock sliders. Sorry, I won't ship. If you want them , you will have to come get them in southern Orange County. I bought these unpainted and rattle canned them. They have a bit of rust and as the pictures show, they have been "tested". I have all the mo...

Re: Quick question on tire pressures

Back home from Moab. The PW did great towing and I stuck to the OEM tire pressures. Coming out of baker, the TPMS light started blinking and then turned on solid after about 10 minutes of climbing the grade towards Vegas from Baker. Looking at the tire pressures, my left rear tire was at 78 pounds a...

Quick question on tire pressures

Hey guys,

I'm heading to Moab in a week (sorry, not the PWIM event) and will be towing about 6500 pounds. AFAIK leaving the tires at 60 PSI front and 65 PSI rear is going to be ok?

The funny part is, the 12v outlet in the armrest / console works just fine. I haven't tested the 110V outlet, guess I should :)

Thanks for the feedback guys

Re: Dead power outlet. Fuse is ok

Sorry, I could have been more precise. It's the 12 volt "cigar lighter" power outlet that's dead. The one located on the left hand side nearest the driver's seat.

Dead power outlet. Fuse is ok

Hey guys, The power outlet in the lower left side of the center, isn't working. If I've read the owner's manual correctly, it's protected by fuse F104. The fuse is fine, as is the enter armrest outlet which, supposedly, is protected by the same fuse. So... Wiring...? Socket? Not sure where to start
